With the 46RH conversion successfully completed. Redtruck is in need of a mod or two. Next up is to finally get her tune dialed in. Keith has been doing the heavy lifting and I'm trying to give him a platform that is easier to work on than the Manual flashed automatic based PCM. According to B&G the current pcm flashed to manual trans can have issues due to software and hardware not being terminated properly. Bought a 03 manual PCM from ebay and found it to be junk. Apparently locked up from security lacking compatibility with my truck. Can't tell for sure since I took it to B&G to have it checked and it was DOA. Still going to use it for a core for a new PCM I've ordered. Told the guy it was dead and had been opened but he said "no problem". Manual trans PCM are a fairly rare bird just to note the obvious. The good news is the same pcm is used in Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500. And the vin doesn't necessarily need to match the vehicle. I ran a salvage yard pcm for a couple years before I reflashed it with a vin. Anyway next mod, take the new pcm to Dave@B&G for him to adjust idle, rev and speed limiters. Install a pair of BV heads. Then tune the old girl. I bought one of those push rod holders, so hopefully I won't have the same difficulties I had last time. So that's the run down on Red it's all good...

I had to modify the cross member to gain clearence for the driveshaft since it is offset to the passenger side. The cross member had it's driveshaft recess in the center and I enlarged the recess about 1-1/2 inches. I welded gusset plates to the ends which added more area for weld. I won't be pulling it back down unless there are no other option. I really like the way the exhaust fits now. Just need to figure if Ill go through the fender or exit below.

Changed the exhaust. It exit the fender. Back to the shop in the morning to add some additional cross member supports. This going to be very strong. In my estimate it is plenty rigid already. But Im being extra careful because red is heavier than most of the other installs.

All the fabrication is finished, welding and cutting done! Primarily installed the four diagonal braces to the cross member. Trimmed the exhaust pipe to my liking and welded the brackets. Tomorrow will finish the painting and mount the bed. Going to cut the bed mounted and finish the exhaust.

Mounted the bed twice today, I'll call it test fitting... it's 1/4" or less off.. trimmed it a little to clear the bolt heads for the shocks. Still not quite enough.. so ended up cutting about 1-1/2 acres of grass and bbq'd some chicken.. Ill lift it in the morning and clean it up for the final mounting. Hieght wise it sits the same as it did before. I might have yhe adjustment set a little too tight. But started setting for track mode. They have 12 settings and I have them on 8. Should be drivg her tomorrow..

Got a little more done today. The bed was being held just a tad by the rear bed cross member. I ended up spliting the cross member down the middle and removing the forward half. Perfect fit... Hung the exhaust pipe on it. Havent decided if I like it... only thing left is the tail lights to be stuck back in.

Started out this morning all ready get started and found the stack cutting disk to be the wrong ones. So you guessed it off to town to get some more. Finally started this afternoon and got the passenger side removed. Dodge brothers really like the spot welder. These guys must get paid by the number of welds they do. Looking at Friday to put it back together.
