I was doing some inspections on my truck today, but had to call it quits when the outside temp. reached 94 degrees. I don't do naps, but I do like my breaks. Wasn't a problem being in this kind of heat when I was younger, now that I am almost 68, I have to break things up. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fired up great! Now to get it tuned up and back on the road for good. Still have some loose ends to tidy up, and get a high power relay to wire the e-fan to the high setting, also need to get the custom AC line from the timing cover swap finished, it's getting hot out now

It sounds nice and mean at idle. WO that will sound like its a charging beast.
Can't wait for that video to post! :thumb::thumb:

Manifold is painted, got most of the wiring harness adapted. Only had to lengthen the throttle body, air intake and map sensor wiring. I need to get the MSD window switch wired in and figure out how I want to run the cold air intake pipeing. Really hoping to be back driving late this week

Nicely done. What color valve colors do you have?

Get a 4th gen Vararam, do like Tray did (mates up perfectly to an SRT hood as well). Will also mate to that intake manifold like it was designed to...

I have seen his build several times and it looks awesome, but that’s just way too involved for me now. My main goal this week is just get the truck running and tuned. It’s been down for almost a month now, driving a borrowed car. I got a silicone 90° bend and some aluminum charge pipe, I’ll make a basic intake going down to the fenderwell

This is the general idea of an intake I’ll do. And a pic of the manifold in the truck now. Finishing touches now

Looking good. :thumb: Almost there:dance:

Very slow progress, tieing up all the wiring for the MSD box and window switches, upgrading the wiring for the high speed e fan, lot's of loose ends that are very time consuming. I did get to drive it yesterday with the new manifold and it feels strong. Can't wait to get it buttoned up and push it wide open. It's been a month since this started hitting a road block on everything I've touched. Really missing driving it around that's for sure

Determination and a logical plan of repair goes a long ways to getting the old girl up and running.

Doing nothing but swapping manifolds the mysterious 6-8 degrees of timing retarding disappeared and the drive ability from surging got immensely better.

Thats odd, not sure what would change timing with only a manifold change.

After getting the heads and exhaust done and using the stock intake manifold, it was pulling tuning driving around. That’s when I discovered the vacuum leaks. So all I did was swap to the new manifolds, same tune loaded and took it for a drive. And it wasn’t pulling anymore timing now at cruise and idle

Thinking about the timing. Vacuum leak and/or exhaust leak could cause MAP sensor to pull timing, same if the O2s was sensing a lean condition.
