Just for fun I compared the 05 ram pcm to the 05 Charger pcm since they had a separate tcm and plug c4 is blanked just like the 05 manual pcm is. They are very close, but there are about 13 pins that are different, mostly from the charger pcm missing some speed sensor pins, 2 o2 sensor pins that need swapped, and a few sensors on the ram that aren't on the charger pcm. It doesn't look to promising to use

Is the 05 charger a manual trans? Can you list the pins that are different?

No the NAG1 automatic transmission has a separate TCM almost like what the 03 Hemi pcm has. I’ll scan the pinouts and circle what’s different tommorow evening

It's the same as the 05 Magnum PCM I was looking at. , if I remember correctly all the NAG1 LXs have the same PCM

I think that could be used with a lot of work, but with the availability of 05 ram pcm what would be the advantage? Now using a 4.7 pcm has been done and the advantage would be to use cable driven TB.

Only reason I was looking into this was an alternative to finding a rare 05 ram manual pcm. If it’s usable I am guessing it would solve the transmission check engine lights for the manual swap. Just something I saw Rick ask about, I was bored and looked up the pins. I’m guessing with so many sensors missing from the charger pcm it probably wouldn’t work

Again the 4.7 pcm might be a source as they also came with a manual trans.

not rare at all, ordered mine from Rock Auto

Yes and no, 05-07 definitely, there was a CAN bus update in 08 which may or may not have changed things. Definitely in 09, at least for 5.7 PCM's because they had to run VVT engines. Should be about the same from 11 on as all hemis are VVT after that.

Not hard to find, I know someone who took this route, apparently the 2500 manual trans PCM gave his infinity amp fits...engine ran fine, just nasty buzzing coming from the speakers. Never did figure out what one had to do with the other. If memory serves he ultimately found someone who was willing/able to flash the 2500 manual trans file on to an 05 1500 PCM.

During a throttle body shutdown, what direct components are part of it during a throttle body shut down?
We know that the throttle peddle and tb doesn't work. Is the spark and engine timing affected too? Injectors? What about the transmission(545)?

Years ago when I was attempting a parallel install of a stand alone and 03 pcm the 545 would go into limp mode. I don't know if it was the cause or a collateral issue. I didn't test along this line for very long.

Anyone needs there computer programmed with vin or skim disabled i can do that for you just send me your pcm (you pay shipping and ill send it out) i can also delete any codes you may not need and tune out your o2's, egr, purge, nvld etc..... Name a fair price for the deletes costs me 99 bucks to tune those out, and programming vins and skim delete is free to me

I knew I remembered reading about someone here who said they could do it, just needed to find the post.

.
I need to proof read more often, I was referring to the 05s but to be honest I thought the 05s were a one year only deal on the PCMs I didn't think 06-07 were close because of the Can bus deal.

Was the 545 going into limp mode? Or, was it the engine with the 03 pcm?
The engine was running stand alone and 545 was in limp mode the stand alone was the first time I ever had a clean 6500 shift. Couldn't get the smile off my face...

I have had my trans go into limp mode 3 times in last 8 months post PCM swap. A PCM reset fixes it but I don't understand why it is doing it. I think it may be a temp related issue. I hate resetting because it resets all my adaptives from my tune. Anyone having this issues after the swap?

It would help if you could scan for codes. Then you could tell if the pcm is doing it's job or causing a issue
