Snow on the ground, about 4" this morning. Temp is mid 40's, snow melting fast
Not fast enough in my book. Anyway a little cool for me but put it back together anyway. Installed new heater hose and moved it a little to take stress off of it if it had any to begin with. And of the squeal is back. I think I trashed the tensioner when it rubbed the mounting plate. I squirt water on it to see if the noise changed any. And of course it didn't. Need alignment yet. Never ends...

Got alignment scheduled for next week. Going to change bearings in the tensioner tomorrow. Roads are clear, just sand remaining.... ugh

The heater hose leak is fixed, coolant recovery tank is on. Heat cycled it a couple times, no leaks. With a tnt, I'll know where I'm at and plan for the axle mods.

The alignment didn't get done, got it rescheduled tuesday. It's hard to believe but red really doesn't need anything other than a good cleaning. And of course it is raining all week...

Of course no one makes a kit for ram's. So I went through the catolog picking bits and pieces I thought would work. This being the preliminary install and I got good information. The springs are 10-950 spring. The adjustment on the shock is about three threads from the bottom. So I'll cut an inch off the spring and that'll move the shock adjustment range up the shock a little. It's sitting about 3/4" lower in the front. I'm going to lower thear about the same. Testing never ends..
Did you get to cut the spring yet?

Ric, i'm trying different adjustments on the shocks before making the cut. It is sitting just a touch harder on the bump (timbren spring) than I want. I most likely will raise the front a 1/4" and do a little more testing. There are more than a couple hundred combo's....

Mark, these are hobby trucks, they are never truely done. I have several mods and changes planned for the summer. The narrowed axle being the biggest on the list. And along with that I'll need both track and street rims. Fortunately I have the slicks I'll use and the street tires are on order. The rear bolt pattern will be changed for a better selection of off the shelf rims. Plus I need to keep the truck ready for testing Martin's new vb.

Rained off and on since yesterday, now with snow expected overnight. Drove red to the shop for the scheduled front end alignment. I usually don't take red out when its nasty but said to hell with it. Rised the front about 3/8" and did the alignment. With it spot on, drove around town stopping at the feed and seed scale. Red has gained some weight and is just under 5000lbs. Oh well red is a street truck. She drives great both town and on the highway.

She's big bone and curvy.....what's not to like.

TnT is the end of the month. Plan is to get a couple passes in. And pull the axle the following week. It looking like it'll be 4" each side.

The new tires /rims will take some more brake trimming and the axle needs cutting before I can use them. I was hoping i could mock them up. But I'm thinking I'll just tnt and cut the axle and be done with it. Is what it is... just hope the weather doesn't step in..

18' is a tad small and 20' is too wide. A 14" wide rim is just right. And 15" rim has the right combo of rims and tire. The 15x14 rims I'm using for mock up are 5x5.5 and the 15x10 I have slicks mounted also 5x5.5 will be abailable. I'll be using 5x5 with the narrow axle. My hubs will have both 5x5 and 5x5.5 pattern.
