Just got back from the machine shop after machining the sc 50mm pulley. I want it to sit close to the sc to support the belt better. Easier on the bearings and less leverage to move the mounting plate.

Cold nasty day, but I was able to sandwich the mounting plates together to see what gets cut. I'm scheduled for delivery of my standoff stock tomorrow which work on Tuesday. Tomorrow I'll cut the mounting plates. They will be spaced apart by 1-3/4". This moving the sc head forward to align with the bottom pulley. My initial plan is to use one idler pulley that can be simply slid in a slot to take the little slack I have out. kiss methodology.

Made the spacers this morning, should have it cleaned up and painted shortly.

Looks good.... the true spirit of hot rodding, if you can't find it, make it.

And I thought my stuff was just weird ... besides I'm not sure some of this can be discribed well enough to have anyone make it. Lol

Made good progress today. It's almost together. Just need longer bolts to finish it.
Here"s a picture.

Thanks, there isn't any welding. But I did the cutting...
I cut up the original mounting plate I got from Keith and sandwiched a Mustang plate onto the original using 1-1/2" standoff's that I made.

Weird , No ....innovative , yes .

"I'm not sure some of this can be discribed well enough to have anyone make it."

The road map is there in the photo's, descriptions and your commentary on the results ... a good fabricator with some trial and error
has what they need to duplicate it.

Amazing work Greg .

More shop time, machined a 2" slot for the idler pulley to slide in for adjustment. The ID of the pulley bearing is a odd size, .670. Probably fits a proprietary bolt from Procharger. Made 2 bushings for it to fit a 1/2" bolt. Screwed the first one up, hence the second one. Good press fit now. Will fit it back together tomorrow to get the stand off measurement for the idler pillar. It's coming together without any surprises so far. The spare belt arrived today. Piece by piece....

Awesome! Wish I had alittle more machine shop experience, you can really do some cool stuff once you get a handle on it

I enjoyed being a machinist years ago. But as it often happens got pulled away from being on the floor running machinery.

My uncle owns a small machine shop a few miles from me. He does a lot of cnc, water cutting and other stuff for Delphi. I get some tools and help from him occasionally

Now that is really cool, modern equipment really makes custom work and details that is beyond the reach of most of us....

Spent almost all day trying to massage the Y7 to fit into the mount I made. Moving it forward just 2 inches has turned out to be a bit of a challenge. Have done a lot of grinding and test fitting. Part of the problem is the new mounting flange which I didn't think needed to be test fitted to the sc has clearence problems of its own. I'll get it tomorrow and decide if it needs to be built over or not. I like having the belt short as possible, but it might have been better to have moved it out a little making the belt longer.
