I am ready to change factory muffler to a Maganafow 14 or 18 inch and want to replace the factory y with Maganafow y pipe. But the shop says it will void the warranty. Not changing the muffler but removing the factory y- pipe.Question,,is that correct? There are a lot of 12's having this done,,just wondering before I take the plunge.

My understanding of "voiding a warranty" is that if something ever did happen, the dealership would have to prove that it was the aftermarket part that caused the problem. Seems like it would kind of hard to prove a y-pipe caused any problems.
Don't think it would make a difference overall Ken but it will cause a difference in the back pressure. One of our mechanics will have to tell you more.

Nothing can void your warranty unless they can prove that the aftermarket part you have caused the issue
A friend of mine has direct port nitrous and a trans solenoid went out guess what they tried but we are both mechanics and didn't let that fly they will try anything and everything to void a warranty you just have to know how to info battle them and be firm you can change anything you want without issue after the Catt and warranty stil be fine meaning you can cut it right after it and dual it out without a warranty issue

my understanding from my dealership is if you dont touch the cats or 02 sensors there should be no issues
