How many miles on the install when it started making noise? If it was quiet when you first drove it, then I would think the install was good. I'd ask the mechanic what he thought the problem was. Since you didn't personally inspect the setup you have to take the mechanic word for what he says. And I suppose you didn't check running temperatures after the initial run at startup. Those initial heat cycles in my book are crucial. Ask the mechanic if he'll cut you a deal on a new install? And see if the manufacturer or point of sales will warrant the gear set. It could have been a set that wasn't heat treated properly. Highly unlikely but worth a shot. Good luck..

Remember, i have lots of these out there. If you were at fault the gear oil will tell that tale. Otherwise they did it. Now it may not be the gear, if a preload was overdone somewhere a bearing can appear to be a gear noise.

I've had more noise from bearings than I've had from bad R&P's. As an example, can you believe this rear end doesn't make noise?

Mine looked like that gregg but I was missing pieces also of the teeth lol!
The picture i posted is of my farm truck. Missing teeth would probably make some noise....lol

Wow... there is no ZF .. stop saying ZF... anyone that tells you or claims the new redesigned 9.25 is a ZF .... RUN from them they do not know what theyre doing.

.
If you want to regear your truck youll need lots of stuff... also a ENTIRE new front housing from a 09 and earlier. .
You also need all new and different parts for the rear axle..
I doubt moes knows what to do..as east coast also doenst. .
You need to take everything you have and throw it out, none of it is re-useable EXCEPT the front diff companion flange which needs to be machined. .
You need to find a full service driveline shop or a machine shop for that issue.
I am a driveline / machine shop, i have done several 12's and 13's.
..
. The front diff is ZF , the rear is not ZF. . The rear is 9.25.
.

I guess Yukon has it wrong too... https://www.yukongear.com/DiffDetai...iff&TypeID=2&Type=Chrysler&DiffID=303&DiffName=Chrysler+9.25+Rear+"ZF"+'10+&+Up
