I have had good luck with mine but I also do absolutely no highway passing. I also do no highway on ramp accel. I punch it from a dig only or manually in 2nd and shift to third I do not ever go into 4th gear at wot.
 
I'm am currently on the 13th trans been in there for 3yrs now I think with about 100 track passes by now and likely twice that in street test runs.

You can have fun you just have to manually out it into 2nd and wait for the double kick down. Once fully in second your good to go. It takes some getting use to thats for sure. Once this trans goes I'm swapping to 4l80 with a brake and full manual valve body I will go faster lol.
 
You can swap the trans to a manual in the 2005 and there is a PID in the CMR where I can select manual or auto trans and basically turn the tcm off this disables the trans altogether it will be limp mode of you try and drive it useless. If that won't work I know for a fact that Diablo can flash my pcm to a manual and be done it has been done already by them!
 
that's some good info and somewhat a cheap route with all that being reused. the 3.0 will help the launch off the line 1st gear doesn't really matter anyway lol. whats the max hp that can hold on too. this seems to be a way cheaper option than the 4l80 route for sure. is there a trans brake option?
 
Yes this is true Gregg! Make sure the tunes are made off that pcm backup file. It won't take but a second to swap the old tune into the new backup file jay can make quick work of that for you.
