i really haven't driven the truck much since the install, but it does sound good. Can't hear it at all inside the cab unless it's pulling. haven't been on the interstate yet for the real test, but it does sound good! now to the point...i asked the muffler guy about a stainless tip. his 'tip' was to just polish the stainlees pipe already on it! so 2 hours later and a $12 buffing wheel for my drill, and i've got a nice shiney pipe. oh yea, rubbing compound too!

Hey there Kitesurfer, which Magnaflow (model #) did you get? I am looking to get my Magnaflow muffler installed tomorrow. I am probably gonna get the #12278. It is a 5 X 8 oval, 2.25" in and dual 3" out. The body length is 18", overall is 24". After researching and talking to a lot of folks, this appears to be what I need to get. Something that has a growl when you get on it, but allows you to talk and/or listen to any type of music.

Hey, be careful buffing your pipe. It will make you go blind! I should know. I am using my braille keyboard to send this message.

i don't know the model number of it. it's a universal 3 in and 3 out, aluminized mystery metal, oval i think. going home from mwork yesterday, i drove it at 65, 70, 75, 80 and at no speed was there a drone. it is totally quiet at 67 and just a low distant rumble at 70. my gas mileage has jumped up about 2 mph (open road) according to the computer. it dropped way down in town--NOW THAT I CAN HEAR IT
