All my life I was one to believe that today's cars could not compare to the older "tanks" we grew up in. I always envisioned seeing one of the newer vehicles in a collision with a 1950's vehicle and getting obliterated by the old tank.

The link below shows such a collision between a 1959 beast and a smaller 2009 Chevy. To say that I was amazed at the result would be an understatement. Especially, check out the movement of the dashboard of each vehicle on the interior camera view.

Interesting.

But the most important part of safety that hasn't changed over the years is the nut behind the wheel. In many cases that part is worse now than it was then.
