Title says it all!! Post pics of your Cold Air Setup, show off your setup, and help those choose their next setup by visual means........I'll Start this up(old pic b4 I painted my valve covers)
Sorry, missed the question. Where do you have your IAT sensor installed? Also, the IAT sensor on the OEM hat is a push and turn and locks the bulb in a specific direction. I think your air tube is plenty large enough, but is the filter free flowing? Putting too much oil on the filter can restrict the flow. Is the air tube heat soaking the incoming air. Do you have a power wire installed? Lowering the IAT sensor signal either by lowering incoming air temperature (the best) or adjusting the IAT signal voltage (pwr wire) will slightly advance ignition timing. Good luck and let us know what you find.Originally posted by Dreamin' HEMI:
Need opinions/thoughts here....Initial testing with this new setup resulted in a slightly LESS seat of the pants feel. I know there is LOTS of suction going through that cai. The only weak link I see is the rubber elbow as it's thin. I'm thinking at WOT it's collapsing on itself a little or lot) choking off airflow.. makes sense to me!
Edit: if you look at my picture you can see I insolated the entire tube and air box in an attempt to keep the inlet air from soaking up engine bay heat.Originally posted by Redtruck-VA:
As you know the IAT sensor signals the PCM the air inlet temperature. The sensor is a basic thermistor, increasing this value by adding a resistor fools the PCM into believing the air temperature is cooler than it actually is. When the PCM senses cooler inlet air it advances the timing to better utilise the expected denser air. This adds some timing and possibly some fuel when running in open loop (wot). I have mine set to read 20 degree cooler than the actual inlet air temperature. Good luck..Originally posted by Dreamin' HEMI:
Greg, the sensor is mounted in basically the same position and direction as it was in the OEM part. The filter is a K%N cone that is new and as you know come factory oiled. Not sure what your talking about on the power wire advancing the timing....haven't heard of that one before. With the heat of the engine especially the elbow at the TB warms up and does get more pliable than the factory tube. I will put a few more miles on it before buying another PVC elbow to replace the flexible one that came with the kit.
