I have to drop the fuel tank again.

I connected both of the red wires together on one plug-in connection. And the black wires together on the other plug-in connection. What I didn't see was that the fuel tank level plug-ins are the same as the fuel pump plug-in connectors. I could have setup the second pump red and black wires through the fuel tank level plug-in connector.

The only problem now is how to run the fuel tank level wires and plug-in connectors.

Maybe drill a hole at the top of the fuel module for a rubber/plastic grommet (that is resistant to fuel), and run the wires through it?

Is there any other kind of setup that I can use to run the wires through the top of the fuel module?

Do you have any suggestions for this mod FrostKing?

If you want to go crazy, you can buy hermetically sealed electrical bulkheads to run the wires through. (from an electrical wholesaler) All I did was drill a small hole for each wire and seal it with flexible epoxy.

This is some great information. I have no experience messing withe pump module. My problem is the fuel gage has a dead spot and being a 03 model I want to replace the entire module with a 04 pump module. I have been told they are physically the same except for the regulator is set for 58 psig. By using the 04 module do any of you know if this is the fix I am looking for? Thanks,

Yes, going to an 04 fuel pump will fix the fuel gauge dead spot. Give your computer a chance to adjust engine tuning to the new full pressure.

Stu, thanks. I'll be interested to see what initially happens when I fire it with the new pump. I called Art's number and got Jaremy, gave him my VIN and thought we were on track. But didn't get a return call confirming he had one. I'll start over again on Monday. Clocks running as I intend to lift the bed for a "C" notch at the time of the pump replacement.
