The wiring was cool. Had a few that aren't needed from tcm plug. I have an 05 pcm straight out of junkyard that hasn't been com flashed and works but abs and airbag on. I also have one that is vin flashed and I have no lights at all. Charged has been working on my tune and still is. I have a Comp 260 cam and had to be tuned. I went ahead and did swap while rebuilding my engine. I also have some trans tuning capability but that was luck of draw on pcm. Easiest thing is get pinouts for both years compare pin swaps get a spare harness and pull yours and put it together. Good Saturday project.
Where do I find the pinouts?

You won't regret installing the 05 pcm.. I wish I had 10 years ago.

I just have to find one right now. Trying a bunch of junkyards, can only find a bunch of 04's

A rebuilt one can be purchased from your local parts store for around $225 flashed with your vin.

I'm still confused on what the flash actually does...I'd rather spend my money right the first time then buy a crap one at a junk yard

For instance I have one pcm flashed with my VIN I get no trans tuning and also no abs light or air bag light. The other pcm is not flashed with VIN and I have limited trans tuning but also abs and air bag lights. They will flash your VIN as abs and airbag modules also are VIN matched and will throw lights possibly from what I have heard which is my case. It is crap shoot on wether PCM will have trans tuning with the Diablo products.

As stated the vin flashed will make the pcm support your options like cruise control, abs and so on.

Will a dealer flash a pcm I bring in, or is it only able to be flashed if I order one from a parts store?

Rule #1, never go anywhere near a dealership. But with that said, I was told by my local dealer he needed the pcm installed in the vehicle for them to do anything. $65- $125. Actually I don't think they could flash it at all. Since then over the years I've only had B&G touch my pcm's. You can send it to them and they send it back. They can be pricey, but they are the best IMO.

Haha trust me, I live by that code. I do all my own work on my truck, I learned from my dad who's a pretty good mechanic. I've called the dealership a time or two for parts quotes and almost laughed at them over the prices

Yep, they're pretty much a joke in my book...

I asked both of my stearlerships locally and there were like " Huh?". They should be able to do it but it does have to be installed and powered up from truck. Which if any of us know our trucks won't run on stock tunes. So that alone makes it difficult. The first PCM i spoke of I sent to B&G. Think it was 125 plus your shipping there. Dave has left and I won't deal with them anymore. There is a place put west that does it as we'll just can't remember the name. Another one is Arrington performance but I think they are steep. The only thing I get at dealer are sensors. I have had too many problems with Duralast crap I wish Charged had the capability he has been great to work with.

I haven't spoken to Dave Kasper for probly over a year. But to my knowledge Dave is pretty much B&G. He was associated with Arrington and left and then became associated with N2Speed. Give me a couple days and I'll check it out.
Here you go...

When I delalt with him he was associated with Arrington but called B&G. I heard that too about N2speed and tried to get in touch with him and couldn't. Then I went to Hemifever and you know all about that and now Charged is making it happen. Like i said I wish he could do it.

The last pcm he did for me was just after he had left Arrington and sent the pcm to N2Speed. The numerous pcm's I sent him were only for vin and companion tunes. Keith has always done the actual tuning on red.

With a 05 pcm, you can tune for a bigger cam. And your gonna need one because you have a QC. Jay Greene has one you'll like. :thumb:

List of things your gonna need for a 12 second qc truck:
05 pcm swap
4.56 gears
drive shaft loop
traction bars
stronger trans
3000 to 3500 stall converter
High performance forged engine (stroker would be a good idea)
Strong mid to high rpm cam
nos or supercharger or turbo
custom tuning
slicks or drag radials

All this does add up to some $$$$. So, a good plan on what and how you want to build it is a must.

That dam Mod Monkey is running around again! :brows:
