This is where you can have your 03 PCM's flashed.

Thanks for the link. I contacted them to see if they can flash an '11 pcm for manual trans :thumb:

Checkout Redtruck's never ending tale for a 03-05 pcm swap using a stand alone trans. This has been in the works for quite awhile and finally getting done..

This thread was both helpful and confusing lol.
I'm wondering, if using an 05 PCM and just retrofitting the harness, does the PCM require the SKIM code, or is it only send from the SKIM
Because the vehicle is setup with a SKIM through the FCM. If I install an 05 PCM without the SKIM, I would think itself wouldn't ask for a SKIM because it doesn't actually know it needs one. This is my biggest concern. I can integrate the connector for the TCM and add the wiring for the new 02 sensors. But the SKIM looks to be my biggest issue. But then I run into the abs and brake light. Being on because I would think if an 04-05 vin is in my ECU, the abs module would set a vin mismatch code. Any insight to any of this? Please help

It at set a mismatch but it may still work I have not personally had any hands on with this yet. Gregg may be able to answer the abs ? As for the skim not sure either as my 05 does not have it.

Interesting. So if I were to have a vin for an 05 truck with out a SKIM , I should be able to load the appropriate file to a new ECU. That way it wouldn't be asking for a SKIM code. The vin mismatch I may be able to resolve by putting my vin in the ECU after I flash it

You sound very capable in doing this. I recently swapped a 05 pcm in my 03. Skim was not a issue. I had the 05 flashed with my 03 vin without issue. The difference with my swap is I have a stand alone trans and use a manual pcm. I also have no issues with brakes/abs. Once you migrate the tcm wiring to the 05 pcm it's all very easy. I believe all of the necessary wiring for the o2s has been covered previously in this thread. IMO, this is a straight forward swap. Looking at the pinouts, the pcm's are practically identical from (03) 04 thru 06.

I had my 2003 VIN flashed into the 2005 PCM. I installed the second O2 sensor and harness, I just have to swap the rest of the pins. I will update any issues shortly. My progress depends on the weather. I have a shop but no heat, and it is starting to get cold up here.

Glad you joined up jtotin

Yeah it should be a decent enough swap. I'm capable for sure. I'm a tech for a dealer too, so if I get a new PCM I can burn and flash the vin with what I need to flash it with. It'll be great once I get it all going with that PCM. The TCM adaptation will be the hard part. Everything else will be easy.

Awesome!yeah let me know for sure. Pics would be great too just to see what you ended up doing. Thanks!

Seems like a lot of us 03 guys are interested in this swap, including me, but a little gun shy.. would be nice if we could come up with somewhat of a parts list, step by step with pics tutorial for the not so smart guys.... well me!!

The harness is much longer than required, it is easy enough to trim it down once in position. The pins should be an easy swap being directly side by side, just take it one pin at a time and double check everything.
I was supposed to have started on this a year ago but life had other plans.

Awesome. I went through our bin full of harness connectors and found a new NGC transmission connector fully pinned. So the swap should be pretty easy when I get to getting everything hooked up. I'll hopefully have my ECM here soon.

The only instructions that haven't been covered is the front o2s (both) pin#3 tie together and connect to c1-32. The two rear o2s (both) also tie together and connect to c2-32. Both of these pins c1-32 and c2-32 are occupied and the second set of o2s are simply spliced to the existing wire. Pin #2 on all of the o2s are grounds. I tied them together and used the ground stud on the firewall near the pcm. The other (4) wires will connect to vacant holes in the plugs. As for c4, the tcm wires should be a direct replacement. I would printout both 03 and 05 pinouts and tape them side by side. I believe there is one ground wire that again goes to the ground stud. Good luck..
.

I was wondering if leaving out the second downstream O2 would trigger a circuit high code after being tuned out. I left it out and figured I would cross that bridge when I got there.

My rear o2s are not connected and I believe Keith tuned them out. But I also had my emissions tuned out when I had the 05 pcm flashed. I don't have charcoal canister or purge valve. I also don't have any dtc's.
