My front mount actually quieter than my rear mount was. I think a lot of the turbo noise was coming in through the rear cab vents.

 

Well, going to have to build a log type turbo manifold. The header turbo manifold just wouldn't fit correctly.

 

How was it not fitting?

 

Tried to use the Tri-pipes still welded together. The bends and angles where off. Cut them into single pipes for easier fitting up for tomorrow. Need to have a second small bend added to the cross over pipe going to turbo manifold for better fit up. Should make progress tomorrow.

 

Doing some checks to see how it fits so far.

 

Not bad so far. Wish I would have started to do it this way the first time.

 

So far, the only thing that will be changed is the turbo sits too low. Going to raise up 2 to 3 inches.

What Turbo.....

Here the turbo after it was raised 2". Much better.

 

Plenty of radiator and plastic fender well clearance.

I call this, "The Poor Mans Front Mount Turbo Set-Up".

Re-using all of the STS parts. So far so good.

 

Hey mine was done with scrap metal, not even cutting up an old kit lol

 

Do have to admit. Realized that I just cut up a custom modded STS turbo system that made the truck run 13.5@103 with only 8psi boost in full street trim and OEM wheels and tires. And the STS system would have ran better by just replacing the bad exhaust flex joint........

I've been wanting to build a front mount turbo forever. And loving every minute of it too.

Valve cover. Will be using the STS oil to make sure the oil is pumped out.

Going to leave the 2 1/2" flex pipe. It does help stop some of the header cracks.
