Had an hour to kill this afternoon so I replaced the stock antenna with a cool little stubby from AMI Styling (US). It is 3", billet and black powder-coat.

I also removed the dealer badging from the tailgate and rear windows. The truck looks much cleaner now.

Now to get my hands on some fishing line and complete the debadging process. :brows:

I'm curious what kind of reception you'll get with that stubby antenna. I had a flexible rubber one a little longer then that and it broke, but it didn't work that well anyway.

I seldom listen to the radio (many other options these days) and the Stubby Antenna was needed so the Truck cover could be installed and removed without having to deal with a stock antenna. Good move. :thumb:
I guess I'm old school and like to listen to the radio sometimes. Most of the time, although, I listen to music on my ipod. You would think by now the auto industry would hide the antenna somewhere out of sight, and I'm not talking about in the windshield.

Radio? is that the thing in the dash that people talk out of?

Looks good, I've been on the fence about debadging my 14, have of the 1500 emblems are just about falling off anyway.

My radio is gone... huh

I like conservative talk radio which is mostly on AM and the stubby does pretty good on that...mostly I like the sound of a good Hemi exhaust :thumb:.

I do not listen to a lot of radio myself (although I got 1 year of Sirius XM as part of my purchase). I like the appearance of the stubby and because I live in a fairly urban area, reception seems just fine. As an added bonus, this one doesn't bang and clang on every parking garage I enter.

Had a productive afternoon. I got my custom blind spot mirrors put on.

Then I gave the interior a quick detail and put in my new Husky X-Act Contour Floor Liners. They look great and provide awesome coverage.

There was only one downside to the day. I removed the OEM film from my Uconnect panel and promptly f***ed up installation of my aftermarket screen protector.

Now to get another one on the way. Argh!

Well, I finally completed debadging my truck. I removed the "4x4" from the tailgate, the "RAM 1500" from the front doors and the "HEMI 5.7L" from the front fenders. I used fishing line to remove the badges and an eraser wheel to remove the 3M tape residue. It was pretty straight forward although a little nerve wracking. I finished up with Goo Gone Auto, a wash, Meguair's Ultimate Compound and a spray wax. Here is a comparison photo with badges and without. I really like the clean appearance without the badges.

Then I decided to go over the entire beast with Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer. I lost my lousy job on the 14th :)angry:) so I haven't had the time or cash to devote to a proper paint treatment yet (Iron-X, Clay, Sealant, Wax) but the Meg's left a pretty amazing shine for the time being.

Anyway, that's all for now. Gotta get back to work so the mods and updates can continue. :thumb:

I'd whistle but I doubt you would hear it.
There's is one that stops by the little ma and Pop store in my town, he has chrome badges on his....not a fan of them, but the stripped look really works for that color.

You should take off the pillar post stickers on the doors too. I did that with mine. Much cleaner looking! :coolsmiley:

It's hard to tell from my pics but I have vent visors that would have to be removed in order to remove the vinyl on the pillars. I'm not sold on the visors so this may come some time down the road.

Not sure why the visors would not still work...unless you just don't like them :ermm:.

I use the dark smoked WeatherTech brand (made in Germany) and they fit inside of the channel exceptionally well - not sticking out much like most types...

:GoodLuck1: - It will look good no matter what you do :D :thumb:.

The dealership had installed stick-on visors prior to purchase. That's why I'd have to remove them....they cover a portion of the pillar vinyl.

I may have to look into the WeatherTechs. Any issues with the auto-up feature on your windows with those in the channels?
