Thanks to this site and all the friendly and helpfull people here; Mr Hemi gave me permission to post pic's and details of a complete build for a supercharged Hemi engine. We will take you through the step by step process. From pulling the motor, to the final tuning. Starting tomorrow morning at 9 am, we will be tearing into the truck. We will give you a day by day post and pic's of the truck in progress. Currently, there are 11 other on going project vehicles that are being worked on. Somedays my truck will have to take a back burner. I want to take the time right now, to thank the many people on this site, that have answered all my many questions and make this happen.

Nice stuff Jerry. Did you gt the package I sent you to Sharadon? I know who your talking about and I hear they are having trouble again. I thought the oil rings were not going to be in the pistin pin hole though. I will be ordering my set of pistons hopefully next Mon. I got a set of Carrillo rods from STU (thanks again). You planning on getting the tops coated? What rings and piston pins you going w/? Later,

Uniball, I recieved the package yesterday. Thanks again! When we were designing our pistons, the oil ring was suppose to be out of the pin hole. The engineers at Ross must have come up with a different design afterwards. ??? We have the Ross tapered pins that came with the pistons. Still working on the rings. We're planning on going with the gapless style.

SRT10KILLR, As far as coating the top of the pistons? We figure with the oil squirters, air to water intercooler and the water/meth injection, our pistons will stay quite happy under boost.

Notice the pretty bronze inserts for the valves! These are the only Hemi heads w/ that currently.
No, no there not.

superjay, Did you put the bronze valve guides in your heads also?
Yes, yes I did. Most shops do it in one of two ways. Old guide is bored out, and a thick,(.500) replacement guide installed. Or the guide is bored,(reamed), .030, and a thin Wall guide installed. Have pictures ready for this, but just get error message when I try to post them.

The ultimate shame. Using DTW to post a picture on HTC.
Thanks my friend.

I believe Clevite does. On another note, a manufacture I deal with called today, and said they will have the hemi valves in stock in the near future. Both in stock, and in oversize, at a good price.

The valves will come both ways. I won't be able to ck on the bearings till Thursday.

Keep us informed on the valves. From what I was told, the 6.1 main bearings are tri metal, as are the Clevites. I'd rather have the Clevites to be sure. Update.....The rotating assembly has been balanced and I should be able to pick up everthing later this week. The heads are in the final assembly stage after another trip to Knowlton/Mondello Thunderheads for the last of the testing and tweaking. Alot of R&D has been spent on these heads, from designing the port's, valve size, intake to exhaust valve percentage, air speed and air velocity. Four and half months have been spent on these heads, but then again, this is where the horsepower is going to come from. I would like to take the time, before I forget, to thank, Sharadon Performance, Knowlton Thunderheads, Total Engine, R&R Performance, Manley Performance Products, Weldedhemi, Stu with Heat Performance and to all the Hemi Truck Club members, that has supported this project with their fast response, new tip's and technology, and helping me to get the parts I needed ASAP. (You all know who you are!, Thank you.) If I get this excited about the heads, wait until the motor is done.

Well, this morning, Denny went and picked up all the parts from the machine shop. All the parts are now going into the "deep freeze". The cryo process will take two full days to complete. We planned on putting the engine together this Saturday, but that will have to wait until sometime after next Tuesday. We pulled the stock fuel tank today, to start on the mod's needed for the new fuel system. I'll start posting pic's next week of the reassembly of the new engine. Have a safe weekend and enjoy it.
