Sunday

- Put the truck in the shop so it would be warm to work on Monday morning. #1
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h100/vince_stephens/Truck%20Build/IMG_0173.jpg">

Monday

- Truck in the air for the first of many times... #2

- Surveyed the mess of oil under my truck. #3

- Transfer Case out. #4

- One dirty ransmission on its way. #5

- Motor getting ready for its 'escape'. #6

- We realized my oil loss problem was from my intake manifold being improperly installed. Rubber gaskets around the pcv valve and oil fill

tube were both missing and the foam that sits under intake manifold was actually folded over, not allowing the manifold to be tightened

down properly. #7,8

- Motor on its way out. #9

- Started work on the truck at 7am and had the transfer case/transmission/motor out before noon.

- Empty engine bay. #10

- Passenger side. Cylinder 2 got the worst of it, and piston 4 was the only one not missing pieces. #11,12,13

- Drivers side, all missing chunks. #14

- Pieces of piston in the oil pick up tube. #15

- Number 2 piston out of the cylinder. #16

Tuesday

- My new Block ready to go together #18

- Ross Pistons and Crower Rods. Not taking any chances, expensive rods.

- Denny grabs the lube and gets busy on new 370

you guys gotta be pretty stoked about sct cracking the pcm now huh? that should easily get your "street trimmed" truck into the deep 11's. not to mention solve the "Killer" trans tunes guys have been dishing out with the psc's and smt-6.

#28 ·
For sure. I can't wait. Marty from KRC is giving me the SCT tool and I'll hire hemifever to do the tuning. The transmission "Killer" tunes have kept me pretty busy lately. Not that I'm complaining, but with proper tuning I could spend more time working on my other projects instead of rebuilding transmissions. In the quest to go fast, guy's are pulling MAP voltage in there tunes to achieve proper a/f's at WOT. Even though you may go faster, guy's are really putting a hurt on their tranny's. I've been there, done that.

We managed to pull it off guys!

I will update the first post tomorrow with all the pics and a day by day breakdown tomorrow. Little tired after the week and all the hours on the road. I think I earned a few titles on this build experience, including ugliest motor ever to drive up to Denny's shop, and first guy to get pulled over for speeding twice in less then 24hrs with the new setup. Both times I just got warnings, lol.

Thank you!!!!
Haha, I have an 8MP camera, if I put those in full res I would still be uploading. Those are only 20% of the original size.

Haha, or just a bigger line of credit
Image
. I will be paying this project off for a while. As far as the Northern power goes, don'g forget about FrostKing. I am sure he will be looking to put in a few more cubes as well. Maybe even throw the trump card and opt for the 6.4 since the price of the 6.1 blocks is coming down alot recently
Image
. Stage III shifts like a damn, the 1-2 shift is rock soild even at low speed, which is exactly what I was looking for. I still have quite a bit of breaking in left. Everything is much more resilient because it has been cryo treated, so it should take longer to find its happy place. Once I really want to throw the psi at it I will need more fuel and be 'patiently' waiting for better tuning ability.

Thanks Trevor
