I recently purchased an 06, 5.7L that has a stuck intake lifter on #1 cyl. The weird thing is that while running cold the lifter doesn't work, but when the engine gets to operating temp, it runs fine. Is there a fix without tearing the engine apart?
Thanks for your help!

I would try throwing some additives in there you have nothing to lose.

Yea Mike, I've tried Slick 50 and ran for a few thousand miles with know results and now trying Automatic Transmission fluid,(1-qt per 7-qt oil change. If that doesn't work we'll try Marvel Mystery oil and lastly I thought about trying to remove valve cover and rocker arm along with the pushrod and try to spray some PB Blaster down on top of the lifter to see if that might help. Lastly, spend the $1,500 for a new lifter., ouch! Sure is weird that it purrs-like-a-kitten when it hits operating temps?
Thanks for your comment!

Try adding a quart of Lucas oil additive.. I have been running that stuff for years not only does it prevent any oil leaks but it does quiet the engine down.
