New Zealand calling........04 5.7 RumbleBee. 89000 miles.

I start the truck and let it idle. Everything on the dash works except the oil gauge. 5 seconds later the check gauges light comes on.
Turn the engine off, wait 5 seconds then restart the engine and everything is working as normal. Been doing this the 500 miles

When I stop, I have to restart the engine twice to be mobile with no dash distraction.

Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't count on getting a code, My 04 Daily GTX has been doing the Oil pressure thing for about 6 months now, No-Code......and two sending units, the 1st one I thought , bad part, tossed it in the tool box, 2nd one lasted 3 weeks then started the Craping out thing....Start up, gauge works , 1st stop sign gauge goes to 0, start the truck back up Gauge works, change the heater to High...gauge stops, , 10 mins later gauge works, turn on wipers.......Gauge stops....bang head on steering wheel, gauge still not working, Dizzy from banging head into steering wheel, pull over turn truck off, start truck back up gauge works.....Shake head , gauge stops.....threaten to sell truck , gauge works......only for a min....All hope drains from driver...gauge works. Grand kid laughs , gauge stops.

Took the gauge out put in My Daughters daily Rumble bee and it's been working for a month now, I bought a New gauge..last week, same ole crap, tomorrow I'm replacing the Dash cluster.

Replaced Gauge cluster @ 8Am(3-12-23) drove from 9am to 10 am, come home, go back out, just got back from a quick jump to the store,.....All good.......so far. 7 key starts since the new cluster...so far so good.

Added benefit my GTX went from 121k miles to 36k ......wish the rusted bed would find that fountain of youth.......Pa sucks for body rot.

you have made me smile which is a great way to start a Monday morning.
I'll see if they can find a code and take it from there. I cant just go down to the parts store, its ten thousand miles away. LOL. But if i order stuff its usually here in ten days. Which is quicker than sending a letter from one side of town to the other.

Pulled code PO522 oil pressure switch.
Ordered one from Rockauto and its on its way, due here next week.
Its quicker to get a parcel from the States than it is to receive a letter from the other side town. Go Figure!!

Placed my order for a oil pressure switch with Rockauto last Thursday 16th 3PM NZ time.

Parcel on my doorstep this morning 9AM Tuesday 21. NZtime. How cool is that for service?

you sux, I ordered a replacement Debit card from my local bank..3/11......Still no debit card...

Since yours is throwing a code, the switch should be the fix....I'm interested to hear the results.

I installed a T on my engine so the stock oil pressure sensor is installed along with one from AutoMeter to send oil pressure information to my AutoMeter gauges. I like have gauges that give me more information and accuracy than provided by the stock gauges. I have AutoMeter Oil Pressure, Water Temperature, Transmission Fluid Temperature, and Volt Meter gauges.
