I use a loose 3000 stall converter and normally just leave it in drive and control the converter lockup using a button on my shifter. Which is really no different than when I had the 545 as I controlled od with a button on my steering wheel. When making a standing wot run I turn off both od and lockup and manually shift. Passing on the highway I again turn off lockup and it feels like passing gear. And is very responsive. So for street manners it is excellent.

If it is like an 03 you will have a throttle cable going to the remote APPS unit under the battery.

Bah, just take some baling wire to it. Full line pressure FTW! :D

You can look under the dash at the gas pedal and if it has a cable attached then you have the 03 APPS. The new designed APPS has no mechanical cable, it is all electronic. I have read where the newer APPS integrated pedal can be retro fitted to the 03. Why not do the opposite and install the 03 assembly on the 05?

Not really work like that stu. The cabke has to match throttle movement exactly to much tension and you don't get wot or you break the linkage to little and you don't get enough and burn the trans up. There is a sweet spot for it. I will be drilling a hole in my pedal plastic arm and rigging a bracket to hold the cable on the inside. Not going to deal with wiring and getting the 2003 setup

Here's a picture of the TV cable connected to the APPS. This is the method most pro builders use when installing a hemi in a retro build.

This is a couple pictures of the progression of fabricating the throttle lever for the TV cable.

I can lock 3rd in I think if I do the whole start in 1 or 2, shift it into D for 3 then column back into 2 for the rest of the pass. If I left it in drive it would shift into 4th at like 5200 or something weird. It's been so long since I've gone wot thru the gears other than 1-2 shift, seems like it doesn't like that 2-3 shift. I Believe this trans is hurt pretty decent but for normal driving its ok, at least I've put over 10k miles on this junkyard dog tho

Do you have an integrated pcm or a seperate tcm?

Yes, that is the 03 style with remote APPS. It seems only the 03 can lockout 4th and 5th by just turning off the od button.
