storytime: back in the 60's in Japan I had a very nice Toyotapet sedan with a 4 speed on the column. It had a hill assist feature much like a linelok. When you came up to a stop on a hill you pushed in the clutch and held the brake pedal down and pushed a button. You could then take your foot off the brake pedal and it would hold the brake until the car moved forward and release. It was a facrory option. The car looked a little like a small 57' Plymouth.

It took better part of the day we had to go get studs new axles didn't have any and no parts store had 10 but setting pinion depth was a sintch just measured stock shim minus .005 and installed good to go there tricky part was setting preload beta ause washer didn't want to crush and adjusting carrier mesh used a flat head didn't have long axle tube tool but it's done and it's quiet in 500 he is doing a fluid change as per directions and inspection and if it needs adjusting I would assume then would be good

It was all Yukon stuff from Randy's ring and pinion Greg called at 830 tonight he said it was all good and quiet

I agree it is all in the setup as long as the backlash is set right and your depth is correct shouldn't make noise mine makes noise if I let off gas at 75-80mph for about 5mph then it's quiet

My first set was Yukon gears. I only had to adjust it once and they where good to go. After the Yukon gears got damaged from clip that popped out of the OEM limited slip. That's another story in it's self.

I bought a cheaper set of 4.56 gears. Never did get these new gears as quiet as the Yukons. I got what I paid for.
