My 04 does not have an od off button. Just tow/haulYes, that is the 03 style with remote APPS. It seems only the 03 can lockout 4th and 5th by just turning off the od button.
Do you wait for the 'downshift' or mash as soon as you hit the OD off?I can say I would definitely go with a lockup converter. At cruise I run 2100 at 65 mph in od and locked up. All I do to make a pass is drop out of OD and with the rpm increase you are in low boost and really moving. Cruising rpm's is too low for you not to be locked up. And while making a hard pass and dropping out of lockup and od both making high boost be very certain you have good pavement under you.
I can lean on it and come out of lu, but usually I set up the pass and I'm already unlocked. This is mostly on a relatively busy two lane. If you asking if I'm doing anything specific for the trans I'm not. I've made a ton of wot passes and launches. The automatic shift points are conservative and when I'm beating on it I manual shift to get the rpm up to my shift points.
