Well even though the stuff with Grace is still on going I went ahead and powder coated my intake so it wont turn gray on me.

Just thinking out loud. How about making an aluminum heat shield and screwing or rivet it to the bosses on the bottom?

 

Actually I was thinking about making a set of phenolic spacers to help with the heat issue!

 

I spoke to Joe about spacers once , then saw that I didn't have room for them.

 

They don't have to be thick. A 1/4 inch thick will do just fine. the thick ones are used to lengthen the runners for moving the TQ curve. we don't need that we just need a thermal barrier.

Why not use a factory pad and cut it to fit? I'm going to order one and try it. I have my old engine sitting on a stand with no intake on it plus my OCP intake showed up yesterday.

 

I have a oem insulator buried in my stash. But I've found a simple shield also works well.

 

Well guys I got some great news!!! Some things have moved around and made it possilbe for me to keep Grace!!!!:dance: Joyce will still be able to go to school and I will have to work on the budget a little more but it will work!!!I am so glad!I love my wife so very much and trust me when I say if it came down to it I would sell Grace but turns out it will all work out!!! Time to go cruising!!LOL

You need the quick disconnect tool you can get a set of them from the parts store.

 

Which ones? I am an assistant manager for advance auto parts we have 3 or 4 different types of disconnects.

 

These guys they are usually a pack of 6

 

Today I made a cover plate for the MDS and other stuff under the 9ntake!I think this looks a lot better!!!

That is outstanding. How did you cut the plate?

 

Jig saw and a bur bit!LOL It took about and hour and a half but it came out nice. It is just an heavy gauge steel sheet from Lowe's! YA GOT TO LOVE A HEMI IN ORANGE!!!!

They are in the middle with one on each side of the cam bump. Some folks lift their engine using them..

I got some good news from Joe last night! My air horn should be done by next week! I can hardly wait till Grace is back on the road!!

 

Well I got a box full of gaskets from cometic today! And an update from Joe that my adaptor is in the works!!!
