Get a tuner and turn it off or get tuner turn it off and change lifters to non mds

 

2500s don't have MDS.

 

Can I disable it with just a tuner? People on one of the mopar forums on fb are acting like I'm totally insane. That it's not an issue. Hardly anyone has heard of it...lol...am I insane for worrying about it???

 

I guess my first question is why is Dodge having such a hard time with that issue?

If I buy a truck that has that, what exactly do I have to do to eliminate it? I know you have to turn it off in the computer but do you have to plug it off in the heads too?

I'm looking at a 2012 3/4 ton that's in great shape and a damn good price but I'm just concerned about the MDS because the dealer is having a new engine out in it right now because of that

Are they still having issues with valve seats on trucks that new? I thought it was pretty much just the 3rd gens

 

If it’s a 2500 don’t believe it has it. If it does then a tuner will simply turn it off issue free. The issue with the newer trucks is the lifters eating the cam lobes

That's my concern as well and what years are safe to not have to worry about the BS

 

I’m pretty sure it’s a problem in all the eagle/Apache hemis(09+) Fiat don’t seem to give a **** in making a quality product an it shows

 

I didn't think the HD trucks (ie: 2500-3500 gas burners) had MDS.... ?????

I know too well about this issue. My Charger is currently in the stealership getting the engine fixed due to MSD parts failure. I'm debating having it disabled once the repair is done. I just love that I can get 27 MPG highway with it on. Hopefully the new parts are not a temp fix!:banghead:
