Mickey Thompson 295/65/15 Drag Radials out back...

Hoosier 28x10x17 slicks out back...

M&H 30x10.5Wx15 Big slicks out back...

Fronts are a 17x4.5" Racestar wheel in 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Had to use some 1.25" thick 5x5.5 to 5x4.5 adapters to make the fronts work. Running 28x4.5x17 M&H tires on the fronts.

My rear brake setup is completely custom. We used a 2 piece F150 rotor with an S10 2 piston Wilwood caliper. Had to build some caliper mounting brackets as well, but it is a lightweight setup, and works great. SSBC makes a disc conversion for the 2nd gen Ram trucks though that is almost a straight bolt on setup. That is what most guys are running when switching to 15" rears.

As for the fronts, nobody makes a skinny wheel in a 5x5.5. The adapters I bought had 1/2" studs, so I replaced them with longer 9/16" studs to match the rears. I have been running it this way for about a year now without any problems.

Wow, they look a lot shorter than that. I'm running 245/70/17's on my street fronts, and they look huge compared to yours. I was looking to step down to a smaller tire for nights when I am just testing a new part and don't feel like messing with the skinnies.

How much did you shave from the ET with the skinnies up front vs the stock setup ?
I'm honestly not sure. I bought this truck a year ago, and immediately slapped on every bolt on you can buy (except underdrive pulley). My first day at the track, I ended up running a 12.82 with the stock 17x7 aluminum front wheels and 245/70/17 tires.

Next week I went back with the skinnies, track intake, and underdrive pulley. I dropped down to a 12.69 in slightly worse air. I don't know how much of that gain came from the skinnies, but I havent run the stock tires since.

Common sense says that a lighter and narrower tire is going to make it faster, but I don't know exactly how much.

Yeah i like the home brew stuff I was thinking about turning the rear rotor down and redesignING the caliper bracket to fit the new rotor so I can clear 16s just because I already bought 16" Hoosiers
You can actually clear most 16" wheels by just grinding down your factory calipers. I did this on my 03 Hemi ram...

For a track setup, what would be the best tire to run up front on a 18"x6" rim?
