Has anyone here custom painted their plastic engine cover? I was thinking of doing it myself, so I watched some "how to" videos on you tube, but everyone is doing it differently. Any advise?

This is what my engine cover looks like and the other is what I want it to look like. :coolsmiley:

I went to a custom body shop and they wanted $600 to do it because of the detailed air brushing. I might try another place or I might just go with the solid body color. But the flames are cool!!

There have been a few real cool looking engine covers done over the past few years.
Most of the ones I've seen are body color.
I don't have one on my `14 I bought the truck used and I guess it was part of the previous owners weight loss program.

What is hydro dipping? How do you do that, or where do you get that professionally done?

Check out some youtube videos. Its hard to explain. They print out the design you want on special paper. Place it in a big tub of water/chemicals. Then dip your part in it. Best way to find a good dipper would be local Facebook pages or Google. Its pretty Badass what they can do.
