OK...new guy here in desperate need of answers!
Ram, 5.7 Hemi '07 model, died while driving yesterday on my way home. No noise, no lights on, no warning.Fuel pump runs and carb cleaner will not make it fire either. Narrowed it down to no fire. Replaced the crank.pos.sensor, no change. Where do I go from here??

I always get into trouble when talking about the newer trucks. Do you have a ASD relay and fuse? How about cam sensor? You say the fuel pump runs, can you check rail pressure. Voltage at the coils? Should be active for the same duration as fuel pump when not running. What does it sound like while cranking? Is the valve train moving?

Haven't went any deeper than the cp sensor at this point. It will kill the fire instantly so I started there. Replaced the cam sensor a couple months ago via trouble code, but it alone won't kill the fire. I assumed the fuel pressure was fine at the rails because the carb cleaner wouldn't make it fire either. I questioned the timing chain too, about to pull the valve cover to see if I have movement. All fuses are good, but there are no fuses or relays for the fuel system. I'm told its controlled by the TIPM, whatever that is.

Total Integrated Power Management, which controls EVERYTHING electrical on our trucks. An example, when you turn on your headlight switch, a signal is sent to the TIPM, then the TIPM turns on your lights. There is no direct connection.

Any way to check the brain to see if its bad, other than to replace it? I assume the crankshaft pos sensor sends a reading to the comp and it in return sends fire to the coils. Are there any other links in between that could shut it down while driving?

Of you have scanner or a tuner with data view see if you can see rpm while cranking. If so comp sees crank sensor and knows rpm. Does the eng seem to crank a lot faster than normal?

If you have valve cover off deff see if you see movement. Another thing to try is make a custom nous light from a small 194 bulb (tag light) and hook it into an injector plug and see if it flashes.

The early trucks look to the 6.1 as the upgrade. I have a Crower going in next. Is there an upgrade for this fix?

I appreciate the help guys. Joining this group has already paid its dues. I always Google my problems and this forum was on the list of answers. Apparently shade tree mechanicing should have had this years ago.
Now I guess the bank website is my next stop...looks like this may be expensive! Thx for the help. Still love my RAM!!

NOTE: The 4.7L engine is not a hemi, this forum is for owners of HEMI powered trucks.
