little info on the truck first.
2003 Ram 1500 quad cab 5.7L
when I start up the truck and take off within the first 5 minutes my "Check Gages"light comes on and the oil pressure gage drops immediately to zero for about 1 second then returns to normal pressure. This only happens when I first take off in the truck and not again until the truck has been sitting for awhile. Logic is telling me this is an electricle problem with the sensor either shorting out or not making good contact. But just wanted to post it here to see if anyone else had this issue? Tomorrow morning I'm going to crawl under the truck and remove the wire to the oil sending unitl clean it up and reattach it. then make plans to go down to the dealer and pick up a new sensor.
