After Mark started to have problems with his rear end gears and then went totally quiet about the ATS trans. Wondering if the ATS trans was having problems too?
Anyhow, I'm working on getting the 05 up and running for testing in 2019... Full time job, family and life stuff take priority first. We'll get there.


PS. My modded Sharadon stage III trans is still doing great. :thumb:

 

While installing the Copilot wiring harness. The throttle pedal adapter is the one for the 03... :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Will have to contact Clint to get an 05 throttle peddle adapter. At that time, I was trying to get the Copilot to work on my 03. Since then, moved on to the 05.

Got my truck unburied from the garage and went for a ride today. I forgot how hard that transmission shifts ATS transmission performing flawlessly.......:dance:

 

Maybe, that's what made the rear axle start to whine... :lol:

 

maybe but it started whining when I was on the highway and I busted 120mph

 

Was it low on fluid?

 

No... I had a new carrier unit installed then it started making noise after about 10,000 miles which for me it took about three years to accumulate...

 

So most likely pinion bearings? My last gear change I believe it took me three tries to get the pinion depth right.

 

That was my first thought the pinion bearing went bad. But Keith drove the truck and he believes it's the ring and pinion.

 

With Keith having drove it, I go with his diagnosis. Typically you can diagmose pinion bearings by when they make noise either under load or coasting. Can you reset them or are you going to regear?

 

I have the new gear set sitting on the floor in the box... I have decided to go with 3.55 hoping to stop some of the wheel spin down low ...

 

The turbo will like 3.55 gears. :brows:

 

Received the copilot throttle pedal adapter. :dance:
Now can get the trans re-learn done next week. Then start to get the tune adjusted in.:SWEET1:

Clint recently told me that he has some supercharged/turbocharged and modded Hemi Ram turcks that are showing great results. But, nothing with big horse power... Clint wants the ATS trans and Copilot to hold up to 1000hp/tq.

I'm looking to build up to the bigger hp/tq side of the ATS trans and Copilot testing. Hopefully.... Step by step. The 05 is getting there.

PS. You could always contact Clint and let him know who you are Bill. :bow::bow::bow: Your truck would get his attention for sure! Clint would love to have you as one of the ATS trans and Copilot testers. But, you wont get the trans and Copilot for free...

It would be cool just to have the 545rfe trans hold up 600 to 700hp and be reliable at the same time. Think that's the best we could ever hope for from a 545rfe trans.

If he send me one I will swap mine back right now and put a whooping on it and test it to the max in a weekend for him if it Lives 2 days behind mine it will hold for awhile on others.

 

I'll tell you what we do is I'll bring my truck down to you will swap my transmission into your truck? do you have access to a Dino so we can document how much power is running through the transmission? I bet Clint would be very happy to see the results.
