Just don't expect to much and realize it's a small piece of the puzzle. lolol Also be happy you still have the $300 for one still in your pocket and the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself.
Same here. I did have fun playing with it. While your installing it you can try another small mod if you like. Add a piece of 12 ga. wire to ground it. It's another questionable mod, but i did notice (for me anyway) quicker part throttle downshifting. It cost nothing and if you don't like it, it come's off in a couple minute's. Oh!! just for the heck of it log your afr before and after and see what you get. (That is if SC has the afr pid.)
I don't think my sc reads afr tho
Too cool I did actually enjoy messing with the tb to as well as messing with the truck when I can. I just hope I didn't mess it up. Should put it on Monday an see what happens. If I messed it up will it just either not idle or idle like sh!t?
Idle like crap most likley.. Thats what happened when we got a malfunctioning throttle body before.
Yeah idle is all if it won't idle like stock then you made a bobo sanding but you should be ok
Long as you stayed back from under the butterfly you should be ok. Problem's will be idle or surging issue's. You still have your stock one, so your covered if you have any problem's. Do a pcm reset, give it time to relearn, let us know how it goes.
I have found the differant reset's all have differant result's on mine. Choosing between the battery (it dosn't like this), tuner (dosn't reset everything) and fuse pull reset's (give's the best result's) i'll take the fuse pull every time. The fuse pull seem's to reset everthing and even get's rid of something's left by even the tuner. You know how these truck's are and result's may vary from truck to truck, but it is the best way to reset the PCM. IMHO
I'll have to look it up how to do it. I rembeber doing it when I had trans issues earlier in the yr.
Nothing to it. Pull the fuse (on your's i think it's fuse 19, should be marked pcm skim.) Get in the truck, put the seat belt on if you want and close the door. Turn the key on (do not start truck) wait for the ding's, turn key off, replace the fuse. The pcm is now reset. Easy!!!
So I broke that plug/sensor that plugs to the tb so now the trick won't respond to the pedal an idles really high like 2k rpms. The plug just slides over but won't lock in. Also the red lightning bolt appears on the dash!
That suck's!!!! Which TB you tryin to plug in? (I'm guessing the ported one) If so try it on the stock TB and see if the light goes off. It should'nt have to lock to make a connection. Look at the connector on both TB's to make sure their the same.
Do you have someone to see if the light goes off if you hold it on? If so maybe you can duct tape/tie wrap it down temporarily?
Wow!!! that look's rough. Plastic look's like it got brittle. Long as the wire's and pin's are ok you should be able to make it work.
Idk what to do. Truck has no throttle response lightning bolt flashing but no codes. It kinda responds to when I hit the pedal if I floor it but won't go past 3k. Fuses are all fine.
Mario, look at the wire's/pin's (TB and connector) and make sure they look good. Make the connection best you can. Sound's like it's in a limp mode, so try a pcm reset to see if that help's. Then see what you have. If it's still not working then one of the wire's/pin's is not make a good connection. If you pulled on the wire's one of them may be broken in the jacket. Looking at that connector it's not all your fault. Don't worry you'll get it fixed.
I talked to Keith trying a few things an the truck still has no throttle response idling like crap at 1500rpm surging to over 2000 an running rough with the lightning bolt indicator still going off. I'm stumped. I thought it is the connector now I'm not sure.
