8HP70 retrofit to 2006 5.7 HEMI - dust cover issue

Hi,

We are retrofitting the 8HP70 off a 2015 Challenger 5.7 to a rear wheel drive origin 5.7 HEMI off a 2006 RAM. Everything now seems to fit except the dust cover. Our starter is on the other side. The current part number I used was 4591910AA which fits a Challenger but is it possible that RAMs have a starter on the other side compared to Challenger? Can you tell me what is the proper part number for me to use in this case?

there is an error in the parts catalog. a year/make/model search or a vin search will give you the wrong part. it has been this way for years and i have no idea why it hasn't been corrected.

the correct part number for the starter locator plate is 4591948AB. you can use a flex plate from a car or a truck as long as it was an 8HP70 equipped vehicle. the starter will mount on the driver side and you need to use a starter from a car.
