did it have the lift when you bought it? It should be covered if it did. Also don't tell them you pulled a dump truck with it.

 

No I put the lift on , but I bought it used I was going to tell them it was on it ,no I won't say anything about that for sure

that's what I was thinking to , I hope to get it covered, I was even thinking about taking the lift off but its lot of work. Can they tell if I said a dodge dealer put it on, the power train is up on feb 22 I hope I get it fix under warranty

 

you can say you bought it that way but that's normally noted in the history pretty good. some dealers will do it some wont. deff don't mention that you pulled anything. if anything say you bought the truck and the first time you used 4wd for a simple trail drive it started making the noise.

 

I brought the ram in 2013 , I just hope they cover it.

 

Don't take it back to where you purchased it from because they will more then likely know it wasn't on it when your purchased it. Good luck with that.

 

No its not the place I purchased it, I have appointment for Friday next week, if they say it's the lift ,I say a lift wouldn't cause that.

 

It can cause a problem with the drive train if the geometry of the drive line is out of factory alignment tolerance. Does it engage into 4wd?

 

Oh yeah it go in and out 4wd no trouble at all.

That is a tough call I would go through with this appointment you have and if they say the lift voids the warranty then I would take the lift off and go to a different dealer. Good Luck with this.

Try approaching the dealer FIRST as if you were thinking about trading it in on one of their new trucks, let them tell you how great your trade-in is with their assessments of condition and THEN see what kind of BS :banghead: they come up with...:dance:

Bring it in as is. If they cover it, great. If not, that's the risk you take running a lift

 

I wouldn't think the lift would cause any issues with the transfer case, but giving a dump truck a pull would certainly put a strain on it. This is a lot like a vehicle that's raced and damaged it's trans and expecting it to be covered by a warranty that is meant for entirely different use. I can't help to believe this one is on you for hooking up to the dump truck...

Yeah it's a lot of work but is it worth it if I need a t-case it will be expansive to replace

 

I had it in today the mechanic couldn't get to make the noies ,I had to bring him for a road test to show him what it was doing, he don't know of they will cover it because of the lift

 

It being a Ram 1500 doesn't it have struts in the front and putting a lift doesn't change the front drive shaft angle. So I wouldn't think they can say anything about the lift, except you probably have oversize tires which would certainly stress the transfer case and that would be the issue.

 

I have 35" tires but I have my winter tire on it now they are 265/75/17 all the mechanic kept saying the lift would put strain on the t- case.

 

I see the tires being the problem not the lift. Maybe I'm missing something.

 

I even had to pay $139 for dynastic time for the mechanic to drive around for a hour, where he couldn't find anything , he thinks it might be the transmission Mount but I don't think but when he checked its not covered under warranty so I said I'm not paying $250 for a Mount that might not be gone. So Monday I have to back again so he can put it up on the ramp if its, not the Mount its the t - case and the girl said if anything is strap or and and it was cause be the lift I will have to pay for labor and parts,they are going to say its the lift anyway and how can they tell if the lift caused it.

 

I called another dodge dealer about a hour from me I ask if I had a lift and something happened with anything with t- case would it be cover they said I can't see why not a lift wouldn't cause anything with the t-case only bearing, and suspension parts
