I think St. Loius would be a good call BUT if deicde to do St. Louis I would call a friend of mine that lives there and find where the good part of STL is . But from what I saw watching the news when I was in LA. There are NO good places in NOLA. Maybe we should think abou tthe outskirts of STL as well.

We've done Branson a couple of times. It was good.

Michelle mentioned maybe Pigeon Forge again. If decide to lean towards fall (which it sounds like we are) need to be sure that stuff isn't closed.

Pigeon Forge or Chattanooga sound like a lot of fun. There is a lot to do in both. We will need somewhere pet friendly to stay though. We might have a camper by Rally time so that won't matter.

We haven't done Chattanooga before.
Fort Worth, Texas was on the table and being planned before the pandemic and would probably be good in the fall but I think folks were wanting to stay more east.

Gatlinburg is mighty high priced.
I researched the hotels and they seem to be in our price range the week of September 17th and they have high ratings and good reviews. I just suggested it because there was already a rally in Pigeon Forge (before we were members) and Gatlinburg is so close that a person could experience both places within that week. Just a thought.

How expensive are the local activities we may want to take in?
It looks to be about the average cost on "Things to do" between $12.99 and up. Gatlinburg has quite a bit of "Ripley's" themed adventures such as mirror maze, haunted house, candy factory, fun zone, aquarium, mini golf and moving theater. Pigeon Forge is 5 minutes away and is compared to Branson, MO and looks to be priced the same at the dinners and shows. There are several go kart parks and there is Rocky Top Adventures with jeep rentals etc. I might have to drive my new purple jeep. The more websites I look at the more I find such as a wildlife park and waterfalls. There is ziplining and mountain roller coasters. There are several music shows in the evenings downtown in both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

The coasters are fun we did 3 between the two areas last year. The ripley places are neat and it’s deff a lot of reading. The go karts are blah there is one electric kart place inside that’s faster. The zip lines are very long and high. One thing I would recommend is the ax contest dinner we didn’t do that one but did do the Dolly Parton dinner which was cool.

The more I research the hotels in Gatlinburg the more I am disappointed. The hotels within a good price range have horrible reviews. The common problems are poor parking, trucks don't fit and very dirty and outdated. The majority of the hotels are only 2 to 3 stars for over $100 a night. If a person wanted to stay in a decent hotel there around September the price range is $200 and up. I am going to start looking at hotels in Pigeon Forge to see if I have better luck.
