Worked on greychevy's truck today...
Pulled out the front differential...
Looks like a Dana44 but a little different.
Its also all Aluminum housing which isnt good for strength or flex.

Pic1 is the whole differential assembly.
Pic2 is it torn apart.
Pic3 is a close up of the real problem.
Notice the welded not bolted on Ring gear. This means anyone with a 2012 or newer 4x4 truck isnt gonna be able to just buy a ring and pinion for the front. its gona have to be completely modified. (Welding and Machining)
Im working with another shop to see if we can remove OEM Ring Gear and weld on a New 4.56 one.

That's the dealers way of keeping DIY out of the question for most everyone there are ways around stuff like that just need a little r/d keep us Informed josh

Prolly never...
looks like its gonna be put back to stock...
Front gears are a no go unless someone wants to spend big bucks on getting a front ring and pinion custom made
