Hello..On my ram when driving sometimes the TPS warning light flashes or comes on ( the lighting bolt in parentheses.) and truck has no throttle response and chuggs.Somtimes it just stalls .Seems to do this as I'm turning a corner or at stop lite when I'm not on throttle. Only sometimes. If i shut engine off and restart it's ok for awhile. I replaced the throttle body with TPS and it still does it occasionally.
I noticed also when I go to start truck once in a while it will shut off right away and i have to restart it..
No check engine light ever comes on.
Any ideas would be appreciated..Thanks
What year? What kind of mileage on the truck, might be a wiring issue, loss of continuity between the tps sensor and the ecu. Or the pedal sensor, I had an 07 parts truck that did something similar, drive down the street, throttle would go away. It wouldn’t go limp mode , you just lost all throttle control, shut it off, restart, full control would come back, on that truck it was the pedal sensor.
2004 with around 225k..That is what mine is doing..Sometimes it just shuts off and i have to restart..the light flashes either way. But it always resets. So far.
When it doesn't shut off it will just slow down and only have about 1100 rpms and nothing else no response when pressing the pedal. No check engine light ever comes on.
How can you diagnose when no check engine light comes on?
It's about 4 years old..Truck starts great every time. It seem to do it more as i slow to a left hand turn..Sometimes stalls some times the TPS light flashes and no pedal response till i reset it
I've replaced it 2 times and same thing.
Someone said crank sensor or cam sensor and others Gas pedal sensor.
I just ordered a crank and cam sensors. Starting with the cheapest parts to replace..
I noticed if I take a left turn curve fast it flashes the TPS light on dash and no response on pedal or Stalls
If I slow down to 5 mph and take turn it's fine...
