Wow, a gallon of milk here is $3.25, gas is $3.50. Diesel is $4. I suspect it will take a lot of miles just to break even with that (or any) diesel. Fuel cost/mile is minimally lower. If you factor in the increased maintenance and purchase cost, a diesel is seldom worth it (unless there's a true need).
