So I had this idea of taking a Dakota and swapping in a new generation Hemi. I located a 1998 Dakota Sport with a high mileage V6 for cheap. Then I secured a 5.7 Hemi and 545rfe auto trans and the reconstruction began. I say reconstruction because it included rust removal, complete repaint job, fabrication of motor & trans mounts, reshaping of firewall, moving the brake booster, fabrication of a new SST exhaust system and adapting the 5sp trans boot/console for Lokar floor shifter. Once the Hemi was in place the task of combining the wiring harness from the Dakota & Hemi began. I finally got it to fire and it' been a blast to drive ever since.
