Need some performance mod advice for new truck

Hey ol' pals :coolsmiley:

I just retired the ol '05 yeller rumble bee wanna bee.
Its body parts have been rusting away, since I've been working on the beach the last 8 years, but the engine, trans, and a.c. thank God, are still doin' just fine.

I have now a '19 r.c.2w.dr. classic in granite

I just put my old truck back to stock performance with my superchips 3815 flash pak tuner. (its for sale now) (its was updated to what I believe was the best revision they did for it)

Now... what's available with the "same" options that the superchips had provided for me? (That tuner packed a lot of stuff in there that worked)

I've been looking around a little, and I don't see much, (packages with what seems to be like smoke and mirrors) and it seems to cost a lot more too.

also - What mods work well out of the box?
Long tube headers with dual exhaust..cat delete..
6.1 or other mid profile cam ?

fresh air intake - will the stock pcm adjust for these simple mods?

how's the reliability of the mds system? should I disable it for longevity?

Will this 8 speed mushy transmission take any abuse?

I've been trying to read up, does any one have any links to some real info on this breed of truck?

I just love the way it looks..

for the 19s you'll need to get the PCM/ECU unlocked....the Long tube headers are a good start, Cam is tricky due to the VVT system, the SRT392(auto) is the 1st go to and it's about $70-80 depending on source....yeap it's cheep HP I've used stock 5.7 Eagle valve springs...on 2 of the cam swaps , the lat 3 have used Comp Valve springs because the owners were going to swap a Comp 274 in it later on., it's a big stick & with a tune it's a lot of fun. Jay Green has some nice grinds for the Eagle Hemi's

Congrats on the 19 RC, haven't seen too many of those.

Tuner wise, you will have to unlock yours as ric said, or cough up the money for a PCM with the tuner (that is what Diablo is doing). I switched from Superchips to Diablo because of the ability for CMR tuners (HTC's own Charged392, jay greene, etc) to do custom tunes for YOUR truck as opposed to the canned Superchips tunes.

The eight speed is now the go to OEM trans because it can take the increased HP and torque better than the 65RFE.

Moe's performance has been having success with their cam shafts for the VVT engines.

I programmed out MDS on my 14 with no issues.

Another Cam choice is the Stock VVT NON-mds for the challenger R/Ts Part #53022064BD, it's between $90-100 depending on source, it's .504 intake and .490(ish) on exhaust...good drivers cam with out tune it's about 20hp over stock.

Sorry, I never got back to Thank you guys for the info and advice given here earlier, but I have checked out some of the leads leads given.

I am trying to sell my old truck, and when its gone, and feel as though I have not purchased a truck with factory problems, I will start a slow climb up in the H.P. dep't.
I take it, the pcm piggyback unlock will lead to better things, is what I'm summizing.
I need L.T. headers, duals, no cats, and the glorious hemi sound emitting from this thing.
the gas pedal - what kind of joke is this, so much lag.

and I keep reaching for the column shifter. not only that, I can't open the door and drive. - WTF !
at least it rides nice - LIKE A BOAT LOADED with TUNA :sad: LOL...

Love the hood on the old girl, did you ever sell the other hood ? what's the price on the 05 ?
