Keith suggested with my setup to go 2500 stall. That was with a 545. Ok I will look for a '95 46rh. See if my guy has a core one laying around and then build it. I can get that for about 100 and stage 3 kit that's half of the 545 stuff. Still would like to know more on auto pcm workarounds.

If I had a choice I'd go with 95' 46rh. The buttons I was refering to are on the back of the steering wheel. I think they were for volume originally. As for gears with 35" tires I'd pick the 4:56 and 2800 stall converter.

Keith may know more about your engine state of tune. If it has a strong low end then the lower stall is good. If it has a moderate cam then the higher stall is better. IMO, the hemi's like to turn 2100-2300 with a moderately big cam @ 65mph locked up in od.

The only difference between the RE and RH is the overdrive unit. The RH 4x4 is about 5” longer then the RE 4x4 length. The main trans case is the same and the overdrive units can be switched back and forth. The governor feed tubes going into the RH is the big difference, on the RE they are blocked off. I think Keith found out the 93ish trans had weaker planetary gear sets then the 95 and newer ones. If you have an auto pcm, it seems like there is no way to get the dash light off without the B&G reflash ($400+) or finding the manual pcm (super rare). And some people have found out recently the B&G flash still didn’t fix the dash light.

So what about a trans from a 94? Asking for a friend.
You’re 2wd, it shouldn’t matter either way what year you get, the 2wd lengths are the same

The 4.7 pcm has posiblities. It has manual pcm available and is a cable drive TB. Plus it has been used in swaps in the past.

Doesn't change anything. Just a mechanical point to vonnect the tv cable.

Well I found one for $200. 3 pin 4x4 unit. I have succumbed to the fact I will get my driveshaft shortened and front lengthened.

Welp tranny down lol! For the last week I have been babying the truck due to having to go to fair. Pull out of the fair yesterday just basically rolling and shift to second and damn near go thru the window the trans locked up in 1/2. 1st and 2nd are like I have a trans brake on. Third works fine OD works fine and reverse is working but it’s really jerky feeling. Called cope and we both think something broke in the planetary area as third doesn’t use them neither does OD and reverse either pretty sure. So needless to say I have a limp tranny lol and driving it is really not fun right now kinda the worst time to break down lol. This will be the final test as whatever is broken will be changed out to stronger stuff this time around.

Which planetarys are you using? Pls post pictures... and list the upgrades you are using.

Damn man sorry. The one I picked up today has a steel 4 pin in OD section. Good or bad? I think I may have lucked up with a 46rh. What are things to ID it?
3 pin is RH, 7 pin is RE

Yep the 3 pin rh is oblong and the 7 pin re is round.

Just want to mention Martin Saine also has custom valve bodies. A popular one is reverse manual with od on the stick with transbrake. But no LU. I'm laying the pressure on for him to build this vb with LU. I will keep everyone updated. John Cope@CRT advertises having LU, but when tested failed to work and damaged my converter which he is unwilling to compensate me for.

Post a picture of the end of the input shaft. 93' I believe was the last year of the A518 with 94' being the 46rh. 95' being last uear of the 46rh. 96' became the 46re. It seems each year had some small varations but nothing major that would eliminate them from being used. I would recommend getting the repair manual and read about what mods to consider.you will find many of the 47 and 48 internals will fit the 46.
