Short story long: My '08 1500 Hemi was brought to the dealership twice (by my local independent mechanic) within the 60 day window of having my 5 year warranty check being due. I then brought my truck to the dealership (personally) to rectify an ongoing problem in January. They have apparently fixed the issue on the truck but informed me that I missed my "5 year warranty check". The serviceman told me that he saw that the vehicle had been to the dealership twice within the 60 day window. I asked him why my VIN wasn't "flagged" when it was entered in the computer. He had no idea but told me I had to call Chrysler to deal with it. I did. Got placated. Now the dealership has been waiting over a week to hear back from Chrysler to see if they are going to validate the warranty or kick me to the curb. The strange thing is that they had the dealership perform the warranty check first before they would make a decision as to the validity of the warranty. It's as though they wanted to see if the truck had any issues before they would validate the warranty. They found a water pump leak and a pinion leak(for the 3d time). It's my point of contention that the truck was in the dealership within the 60 day window, wasn't flagged, and they said nothing. I'm prepared to lawyer up and go to the media if Chrysler "invalidates" my unlimited mileage, lifetime warranty. Any input ? Your $.02 is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mutt

This is one of the things that the dealerships drive me nuts with. They sell you a product then place the burden on the buyer to use it. There never was any intention of the dealer to ever honor any coverage. They are simply a bunch of thieves...

LATEST UPDATE: There was a miscommunication between management and the call center(who are paid to verbally deny all claims I'm sure). I was contacted by a decision maker and was informed that my unlimited mileage/lifetime warranty was indeed valid. I told the woman that she made my month. Folsom Lake Dodge replaced the water pump and a new pinion seal at no cost. On my way home, I got on the gas and heard all hell beak loose. I pulled into the corner gas station and looked under the hood. The serpentine belt was everywhere with the fan impaled into the radiator. The service advisor at the dealership called a tow truck and brought me out a loaner car. Upon further inspection, the pressed on flange that holds the fan and clutch on the wp shaft failed. Defective water pump. We'll see how this goes but it's being dealt with.

I'm sure it will only get better....
