Short story long: My '08 1500 Hemi was brought to the dealership twice (by my local independent mechanic) within the 60 day window of having my 5 year warranty check being due. I then brought my truck to the dealership (personally) to rectify an ongoing problem in January. They have apparently fixed the issue on the truck but informed me that I missed my "5 year warranty check". The serviceman told me that he saw that the vehicle had been to the dealership twice within the 60 day window. I asked him why my VIN wasn't "flagged" when it was entered in the computer. He had no idea but told me I had to call Chrysler to deal with it. I did. Got placated. Now the dealership has been waiting over a week to hear back from Chrysler to see if they are going to validate the warranty or kick me to the curb. The strange thing is that they had the dealership perform the warranty check first before they would make a decision as to the validity of the warranty. It's as though they wanted to see if the truck had any issues before they would validate the warranty. They found a water pump leak and a pinion leak(for the 3d time). It's my point of contention that the truck was in the dealership within the 60 day window, wasn't flagged, and they said nothing. I'm prepared to lawyer up and go to the media if Chrysler "invalidates" my unlimited mileage, lifetime warranty. Any input ? Your $.02 is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mutt
