The EGR valve is a duty cycled solenoid setup. Make sure you have ground on the dark blue/dark green wire. Yellow/pink will be around 4.6v key on unplugged. Dark blue/lite green will be around .35 unplugged. The scanner should read right around .80 at idle of its more or zero you have to go digging Draper into the wiring possibly PCM.

Will try and get it scanned tomorrow and see what’s going on. Thanks for the advice

Sometimes there's info on line that can help. Someone else might have had the same problem. Has anyone taken a vacuum reading while driving and stopping? A leak in the egr system can cause running problems.

Thanks. No leaks . The light is back on but didn't stall today.....yet
Getting a full scan done tomorrow

Did they say anything about the TSB or anything about how the vehicle is NOT supposed to be run with the new EGR until the flash is performed? They very well could keep chasing this in circles.
There are two service bulletins, one is 18-021-04 which is just a PCM flash and another 18-010-04 which involves replacing the EGR valve and then the PCM flash. As I stated before there is a note posted in bold letters a couple times in the 10-010-04 bulletin that states: CAUTION: Do not start the engine between installing the EGR Valve and performing SB 18-010-04 (PCM Flash Reprogramming). Both repairs must be
performed before the engine is started.
It should state on your copy of the repair order which bulletin they performed. Being that it was run after the EGR was installed I'm not entirely sure it can be properly corrected. Armed with the 18-010-04 TSB I think I would take it back to the original repair shop and tell them they did not do the repair correctly. Any reputable repair shop should have found that TSB and should have performed it correctly. In other words they might have to supply you with a new EGR valve to take back to the dealership and have it done again. There is no way that you should have to keep paying for these procedures when the responsibility to do it right the first time is on them.
Lego mechanics... take part off, put part on.

Could be a good way to test to see if the egr is the problem.
Well you know this entire thing is of course based off of the initial repair shop doing the diagnostic properly. Replace EGR and go through all hell to get it flashed and then run in circles only to eventually find out it had a green connector to start with. Perhaps starting back at square one is not such a bad idea.

Yep, copy and pasted right from the Chrysler TSB.

The reading i've done I initially thought it was a stepper motor. This would allow the egr to calibrate on startup. Unfortunately it is a duty cycled solenoid controlled by PWM (pulse width modulation). Basically wider the voltage pulses, the higher the voltage. Higher the voltage stronger the pull opening the valve more. I don't understand why a new egr valve would be required for a update flash unless to insure it is clean and properly seated. I suspect it will be one of those components that require a OEM part to work correctly.

Hi Guys

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and imput. The light is back on but it hasn't stalled since we got the flash done.
Waiting to get the garage to do a diagnostic on it and see what happens from there.
Like I said it hasn't stalled since but from time to time will jerk a little

Unfortunately much of the off shore replacement parts don't work in our dodges and require oem replacement. Hate to say it but get one from the dealer might be the way to go.
