How in the hell do you find this stuff??
This one was an E-bay deal, opening bid was $699.00 a friend pointed it out and I told him to bid on it because most people will stay away, he said he was not going to take a chance on it because the paint was burnt off it.
I said that since the MDS plugs were still intact it could not of been hot enough to warp it.
Block was delivered yesterday, ran it over to my guy, checked the deck surface and then checked the crank bore and cam bore everything is with in spec, brought it back to work, going to pull the oil galley and MDS plugs tonight and get it back to the machine shop early next week , hot tank it, check the bore see if a re-hone is in order or just bore it .010 over and start fresh.

Block Part # 5045475AD is the 2013-2017 Bare 6.4 Block , prices range from $1380 to $1700. problem with this # is some dealerships have a Core charge of $250 .
Block Part #68166434AD is the HellCat block # ,prices are about the same if you find the right dealership, with no core charge....keep your eyes out because these come up for sale more often then you think, usally in the $800-1000 , some guys buy it thinking great block to build with , then get intimidated by the VVT cam crap.

Block Part # 5037471BF is the 2011-2014 6.4 and is getting hard to find this is the one that my 2014 has,, paid $50 for it , it was in with a bunch of scrap blocks from a dealership, I'm guessing someone tossed it out by accident, or they were planning to pick it up later in the week, but my scrap buddy beat them to it.

Dash is finally out of the truck, need to get the shoulder belts out and than I can pull the rug and the last interior bits out...looks like the weather will be good for the next few days.

Are you putting the dash back in after you finsh the cage?

Yeah, dash cover factory instrument panel and fake radio and heater control will find it's way back
I want to try and leave the truck as stock looking as I can. the OEM cloth seats aren't that heavy , This weekend I'll figure out what Alum I need for the dash support and what I can and what I can't take out of the cab floors, fire wall and back panel.
Seat tracks will be made out of Alum....should have some photos in a week or two once I get rolling on this , I still have some work to do on the garage yet.
sold off all of the music gear out of the studio now I can change that room over to a work area.

Can't wait to see this come together. I'm assuming this will be used on the street occassionally...

Early part of the week looks good weather wise, I fired a guy on Friday, have a few interviews lined up this week, trying to get some dependable people in here so I can have some quality garage time. putting in 12-18 hours a weekend kind of puts a crimp on things.

Good luck getting help. Seems there is a shortage of dependable workers available.

Got home from work and finished pulling the interior out, put the dash support back in to get an idea of what kind of aluminum shapes&sizes I need to order.

This is making me want to start a race car/truck...
Wait till the real insanity starts.

After some material guesstimits and some actual weighing of removed unnecessary items I'm down from 4480 to roughly 3950. Keep in mind bed went from 350lbs to 85lbs , heater/air-conditioning eliminated that's about 75lbs,air bags, radio center seat , New rug doesn't have the mass backing, the fire wall insulation , all that is another 75lbs.
Need to remove another 300 to hit my target , thinking I can find another 100, not sure about the extra 200......but than again intill it hits the scale it's still a guess.

Sounds like no bed, just tailgate...
Pretty sure 4000# is doable.

when the old man was doing super stock he had 24in wheel for big blocks and 12 for small blocks. 22-24 is just too big
