My personal experience is that the three bolt reluctor wheel is fine. I have only read of a failure and have never met anyone who has actually had a failure. And i've spun one to 6500- 7000+ on many occasions. Wouldn't hesitate to use that engine again and in fact it's my backup engine.

03-08 stock 5.7 crank will handle power(remember it's the same material, same size mains and rods as the 5.3 Chevys that every one likes to point out can handle a 1000hp..... but the tone wheel/reluctor wheel is the weak link.
as long as you keep the RPMS under 6500 your plan will work......but if you can find a 6.1 crank, for under $350 it's good insurance.
Like Greg points out the gray area with the 3 bolt wheel is 6500+

Nope just , just balance the new assembly and your good.
The 6.1 crank is the same as the pre eagle 5.7 except it's forged and has a 4 bolt tone ring.

Now your fun is really going to start... won't beable to get the smile off your face...

:D:D I cannot wait to install it. I still have to order a few fittings, pigtails for wiring the sensors and OD, LU and I still have to order the flexplate. Once I get those, I will tackle the install. Probably in 9 days (next weekend)

It's a straightforward install.

it's one of those , I wish I could be on a corner when you go by and bark off 2nd gear, something about a big 4 door ram chirping 2nd

only thing that is going to keep traction when you're making power is fat tires and a tall sidewall.....:HemiWhoopAss1::thumb:

Agreed, on the street bigger is better.

Or we could just grab Don and go to island and get a bunch of Videos
We can do that too and speaking of Island, that place and Atco are going to be packed with cars now that Englishtown is no longer open.

i do need to add the bars to control wheel hop which i am getting or i could add a kicker shock since the SRT10 rear has a provision for it, but those things are expensive! I think a set of long bars would be cheaper, and do a better job

My old school slapper bars work just fine if you want to go real cheap!
