What do you think is causing your problem? Any idea what your line pressure is reading?

I wish i knew Greg .. i have no idea but it seams every time i go up to the mountains which is a 3 hr ride it starts to shift weird . and i don't tow anything and i am not beating on it. but since i got it back from the trans shop last time it didn't feel that good so i knew it was going to happen eventually . i think i am going to call a guy name rick in Indiana that my brother told me to use in the 1st place it was either him or Martin Saine in California but i didn't listen to him only because i felt if i had a problem with the trans means i have to take the trans out and ship it so no truck for a couple of weeks.

Just thinking out loud, but it seems to me our trans never breaks anything. Just slips and burns clutches. Comes down to either the trans need more clutch surface and/or higher line pressure. I monitor my LP closely and see it is very dynamic in relation to TPS and MAP.

i seen that trans in the for sale section .

Greg you are right since my trans was rebuilt only once did something break and it was a welded piston on the 2nd gear i think something the trans guy said he never seen happen before.
you are right it is usually burnt up clutches

when my trans went the 1st time it was stock and i had dsp custome tuned from hemifever no trans tuning .
after trans was rebuilt the shop put on the sonnax line booster still had problems he thought it was my tune but i had put my truck to stock and even with the sonnax on the pressure was not always right. he took it out for a road test and watched it on his computer and said it shifted great when the line pressure was where it needed to be and then there were shifts he didnt like and the pressure was off so he thought it was the chip but i told him the truck is in stock and he didnt know what to think .

so now my sonnax is off since i have custom tunes from white lightning he told me to take it off since he raises the line pressure

as far as the trans fluid goes its been back to this trans shop 6x so the fluid should be pretty clean.

what i think i am going to do is have them fix it since i believe it is still under warranty and i am going to call another place and have a trans built for my truck so if i ever have an issue i have a spare trans for the down time .

I am a believer there is never too much line pressure. At warm idle I usually see 40-50 psi, easy accelleration it goes to 100 psi. Hard accelleration 150 psi. Normal cruise sets at 40 psi. Any increase in load or throttle position instantly increases LP 80-120 depending on the change. Keeping the OEM design in mind that it was designed keep LP at a minimum to improve fuel mileage. If I could i would set mine for a minimum of 120 psi. Care must be taken when adjusting the Map signal. Good luck..

For the street tune I run I believe David kept the psi around 120-160 for my truck but I just heard at track from va4meds that my psi is 450 wot according to what he was told by David it's a custom tune

I hope you get your trans issue figured out soon I went thru 10-12 trans before I broke down and bought the Sharadon trans haven't had an issue since

Keith, there is something wrong if you are gettng anything over 225psi. There is a mechanical relief valve to control the overall pressure.
