2007 Ram I need a switch fuse location for add-a-circuit

On this 07 Ram 1500 I cannot locate a fuse that is "hot" only when the ignition switch is on and/or when the key is turned to "accessory".

I have read post related to other model year Rams which give suggestions but those fuse locations either are hot all of the time or the fuse socket does not exist on my Ram...regardless they do not seem to work on my 07 Ram. I have found several fuse sockets that are hot all of the time, but I need to run a trigger wire to a relay in my CB radio installation. Can anyone with a 2007 Ram help me out? Thanks in advance!!

do you have an aftermarket radio in your truck? If so you can tap into the acc wire to control the relay. If not you should be able to tap into the cigarette lighter power which should only be hot when the truck is on.

I also thought that my cigarette lighter was switched, but is stays powered on at the fuse box when the key is off and removed....as does the other two power points. Where my dashboard power point is fused (not cig lighter) the fuse box cover that numbers the fuses has the indication printed on it that states "Batt/Ign" which, on some models, apparently makes that power point switchable if you move the fuse over, but mine does not work when I do that.

I have heard that the 2007 models are different than previous models related to the can-bus system, but I do not know why that would change my fuse box so drastically. That is why I was hoping to find someone with a 2007 that had found and used a ignition switched fuse.

In the fuse box under the hood there should be a relay location that has no relay but has pins in it. This should have a key triggered wire. Also when testing your cigarette lighter did you have the key out of the ignition doors closed and hit the lock button? The 2007 trucks keep stuff powered on and have entry power also.

Thanks Guys, I will try again based on your advice. When I checked for power at the cigarette lighter fuse I had power on all of the time with the door opened and the key off....so I assumed that my lighter socket stayed on all of the time. I will check it again.

Charged392...how did you tap into a hot pin on a relay socket? Is there a single wire socket that I can get, or something similar?

Okay, so the lighter circuit does stay hot after the key is removed for a while or until the door is opened...which is probably why my multimeter was telling me that the circuit was hot after the key was turned off. Thanks for the help! Maybe I can figure this out now!

I think of them as power ports which makes more sense to me when they work or don't..
