Hey folks, have noticed my headlight lenses are getting pretty cloudy,not putting out anywhere near the light they used to. I have noticed several different kits to polish and clean them up, just wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I guess they would be worth a try,but didn't know if the haze would be just on the surface or all through them. Thinking of just replacing them. Wish you could get glass lenses like my fog lights,still bright as ever.

The foginess is from oxidation of the lens cover. Anyone of the kits should take care of it as long as it is done right. but the yellowing is only on the outside. I haven't done it personally, but my work does it and it turns out great, they look brand new when done

I bought one of the kits available at Advance Auto and polished my daughter's headlights. Turned out good, then cleaned up my 03 lens. Just follow the instructions. I think the kit was around $30.

If the kits are done right and the directions are followed the lens can be cleared almost 80-90% and will last for around a year and then start to fog again the main reason the lenses do that is auto car wash wax on the lens and the headlights burn it in fogging the lens a neat little trick for a car show is auto trans fluid wash your vehicle then run the lens with ATF and it will be crystal clear and last about a week then disappear and of again my truck in the picture here had extremely foggy lens and this is after I did one side 90% better very good

My daughter bought some stuff called white diamond. It's an aluminum polish that work's on headlight plastic len's. Her lens' on her mazda were very, very bad. For as bad as they were it helped quite a bit with little rubbing. This might be a good choice if there not to bad. Also seen some result's of the wipe new stuff. Guy did a little sanding of the len's, cleaned it up after then aplied the wipe new. The light's looked like brand new. The stuff has to cure for 24hrs. so it's more of a permant fix. I've been wanting to get some to try on the black plastic trim to see how it work's and hold's up.

Thanks guys. Didn't know if they were all they were cracked up to be or just a gimmick. Saw a commercial for the wipe new, if it works half as good as they make it out, would be some good stuff. One my buddies said he used chrome polish on his wifes car and worked pretty good. I'm used to the old school sealed beam lights,new lenses every time you changes lights.

The Sylvania headlight restore kit is the best, hands down. It gets the light housing crystal clear and (here is the most important thing) this is the only kit that comes with a UV barrier coating which will keep it clear for a couple years as opposed to all other kits which will dull again in 6 to 18 months.
I just did the headlights on my 2002 Ram 4.7L about a month ago. Here is how they turned out after 30 minutes worth of work (per side):
*Note, the UV barrier protectant needs 4- 6 hours to fully cure.
