Yes, yes it was!!!!
Julie stayed on the phone with us, advising about road conditions, where gas was still available until we got to the area that had no service, electricity or gas..... Morris and I were both past empty when we found a place in Louisiana with gas. She was a great help!

As I recall the lights were out for several hours. Sure was glad I had my flashlights.

All night!!! I finally went down the road to where the lights had been flashing all night. That's when I found out that a tornado had taken the second story off the hotel a block away. Tree limbs were everywhere. The Fire Chief said we couldn't get out of town to the south, where we needed to go. Our best bet would be to "try" to gt through the mountains. It turned out to be quite a trip. So much destruction along the roads it was unreal.

I know that we love that person and his family so much that we made a "dedication spot" for him in the truck picture we took that same day.
