I talked to the shop that we use to build our mild transmissions and they told me if I buy the performance parts they will rebuild my 545RFE and install the performance parts into it for $650. Sound reasonable?

I told them I was going with a full valve body and I was going to go with good clutches.

Never had an auto built in my life so I have no clue what I need. Going with Sharadon valve body and probably an Edge 2800 stall converter. What do I need for clutches? Anything else?

As soon as I get a trans the truck is getting a 273 comp cam, valve springs, pushrods, throttle body. Truck already has full length headers and 4.56 gears. I have diablo so it will be tuned after the good stuff is installed.

I'd love to start collecting parts for the T56 swap again but I figured I'd give the built auto thing a go first since I've never had one.

Sweet. Is that all I'd need for my future set up? I'd guess it'll be less than 400 hp.

I'd like to get this thing built before the end of the year. I think with a cam and a good trans it will shut up a lot of the diesel guys I work with.

#K45. Fits all 45RFE / 545RFE Transmissions. You get all four Red Eagle Power Packs, #45-PP1, #45-PP2, #45-PP3, an overhaul kit with molded pistons gaskets and seals, filter, line pressure booster, #45SK Shift Kit, high energy clutches and steels for the reverse input and low reverse clutch sets. Low / reverse molded piston not included. All of the above for $609.00.

Does this sound like what I need? I guess I won't need the shift kit since I'm going with a sharadon valve body?

That's what I just purchased for mine.

He say all parts are comp. Good stuff? Or should I just go with Manley stuff?

I'm running pretty much all Manley stuff, but wouldn't of hesitated running comp. now I think about it, my cam, and retainers are comp. No regrets and issue free.

A 273 may not be a good idea. Need a pretty big stall for that guy. I'd look into a custom grind, imo there are far more options out there than a few years ago

2800 is too low??? I've been out of the hemi game for a while but 2800 seems plenty reasonable with the 273 cam and 4.56 gears.

It will still be a street truck. What stall would yall recommend for that cam then?
