No that's not normal...Kinda makes it look like a cobble job IMO...It would have a better sound if the correct size pipes the muffler was designed to use were used.....

back when i was taken welding we call the chicken **** wedding cause it looks like chicken **** and the pipes are too small did they include the tips

I'm pretty sure using the wrong size pipe is what made the welding so difficult and ultimately look like crap. The point of putting on a high flow muffler is just that. Those pipes are restricting flow and probably costing you horsepower along with changing the exhaust note altering the sound from what it was designed to be. I would definitely be negotiating that bill at the very least.

Yes they included the tip but they are not the flow master tips . I can say I am highly pissed and I will be going up there Monday bright and early
:thumb: :GoodLuck1: Take a look at the bill too and see what diameter of pipe they billed you for compared to what's installed. It's possible some peon just used the wrong size on accident which, if they were a standup place, would be promptly addressed at no charge to you :thumb:

i had a wed break and my exhaust guy fix it free

That's exactly what I plan on doing or they can put my stock muffler back on and I will take my business else where...
I would take bets they used a sawzall to remove it.......you probably don't want it back

:iagree:

Matt from what little I've seen here...I believe I would NOT let them touch my truck again...just get the money back...thank the wifey for trying to please with the Valentine's Day surprise and go elsewhere for a quality exhaust job with quality parts IMO...

Sorry but I am by no
Means a pro welder and I can tell you that's crap. First pic has holes in weld. The you have that 2.74" pipe into a 3" muffler crap fill the hole. And to
Top it off a restricted pipe to take up the gap. That's not a good job.

It's still possible it was an honest mistake. If they mess it up again for free what's he out other than time? But yes! Definitely do thank the wife for trying! You've got a keeper there boss :thumb:

Yeah, it should be 3" on the inlet side for sure. With dual outs they might be smaller than 3" but the piping should still match the muffler :thumb: The factory y-pipe that's 3" out is restrictive enough without choking it down farther!

Just an FYI

I was looking at exhaust options too just a week ago. The Flow Master has an issue with our MDS where it gives a really crappy sound when our motor drops cylinder configs and it's not recommended. I had the pleasure of working with an exhaust shop that let me sample some different configs. I chose the simplist and cheapest. That was cut out the muffler and leave the stock baffles. OMG it sounds 10 times better than any of the others and best of all it cost $69 bucks... Tubing is Factory and Y adaptor is free flowing making the exhaust super efficient now my truck idles much nicer too. Good Luck ! Adam

Yep... And it growls real nice. Didn't need to put a custom set of baffles or another muffler... After hearing them all the motor makes the ultimate sound and needs no mods to make it sound deeper... It's a Hemi so it is already the best sounding Motor on the planet. Adam
